Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

Still here. ...... Been watching bit of YouTube ... River dance, flash mobs n bit of line dancing. Ohh and old couples jitterbugging lol

bikergran Sun 26-Nov-17 04:54:19

Rain lashing down here pattering on windowsill. Think I need my earplugs in! You tried some paracetamol "cornergran" I presume.

bikergran Sun 26-Nov-17 04:57:57

Bfn..... Zzzzzzz hope you manage to doze back off

cornergran Sun 26-Nov-17 05:06:05

Still awake, just followed you into the memorial thread bikerg, so individual, some harsh comments there. Right, iPlayer for me now. Yes, had my allowance of ‘drugs’, will begin the next lot in a couple of hours and feel no guilt if I go back to sleep then. I’m poorly, I’m allowed smile.

Thank you Maw for your moving comments. You clearly loved Paw deeply and I admire your resolve to continue as best as you can and not give up.

4.30am, mug tea and stomach really upset, my own fault, I ate too much yesterday, trying to increase calories to gain weight , tried too hard.

Ginny42 Mon 27-Nov-17 06:29:27

Only just logged in although been awake for some time now. Sorry you're not feeling well Annie. I keep some ginger in the fridge and some crystallised in the cupboard for when I have an upset stomach.

Hope you're all having a snooze right now. I'm meeting my sister at 11 to do some Christmas shopping so I don't want to nod off again.

Stay well today and look after yourselves everyone if you're not feeling well or grieving.

Anniebach Tue 28-Nov-17 03:03:05

2.50am, mug tea. Seeing a O.T. Today, what gem will she come up with , she can't change anything.

Marydoll Tue 28-Nov-17 08:37:35

Annie, I felt the same about seeing the OT, as I suspected she would be useless too.
However, I was so pleasantly surprised at the help I was given. It wasn't just the practical help, it was the emotional support and just listening to my fears, when I knew I was going to have give up my job.
Let us know how you get on.

Anniebach Wed 29-Nov-17 04:51:14

4.15 and a mug of tea for a change !

O.T. was very helpful , shopped on Amazon with me for things which would help to do tasks which are so difficult, gave exercises to do and is mailing video's of them because I kept getting them wrong. Will call again in two weeks.

I don't like this silence, miss talking to Honey so much, Lottie fast asleep .

Good morning Annie I haven't been on this thread for a couple of weeks as I have been sleeping better. However a family problem which has rumbled for years has, like a sleeping volcano, is threatening to erupt again and if it does my life will be a lot more problematic than it already is.
Troubles don't come singly do they?
Pleased the OT was helpful but you need more help with your nutrition, I hope you get it.

Gave in and went to see my GP yesterday. I say “my” but actually one we had up to a couple of years ago when she left to have twins and she tells me she just does a few shifts when her husband can look after the babies (18months)
She listened for a long time and was totally reassuring but also gave me a very few Zopiclone just to get me past Paws funeral on Monday and despite Hattie agitating around three (not desperate to go out, possibly heard something in the garden though) I then slept soundly until the alarm at 7.45 and do not feel hung over now.
Don’t actually “do” pills so this is in no danger of becoming a habit.

cornergran Wed 29-Nov-17 08:41:58

I have them too, mawb, for desperation really. The last 28 ran out after two years, sometimes it’s necessary. I’m pleased you slept. It does help manage, well, everything really.

The OT visit sounds to have been very useful annie, pleased for you.

Oh ann, you don’t need more weight to carry.

Love to all.

Anniebach Wed 29-Nov-17 09:16:40

Morning Ann. G,ad you have had a spell of good nights, sorry problems are looming x

Am trying so hard with the food problem

Anniebach Thu 30-Nov-17 03:53:44

3.50am etc, nothing else to say , same old

Teetime Thu 30-Nov-17 03:59:56

Cant sleep again although very tired. Tried everything except pills.

cornergran Thu 30-Nov-17 04:45:23

Morning annieand teetime. Two good nights so fairly relaxed at being awake now. Will have another try in a few minutes, although it be fair I dont try that hard as worrying about being awake is bound to keep me awake. Hope you two and anyone else awake can get some rest.

morethan2 Thu 30-Nov-17 06:22:10

I haven’t popped in for a while because 1, I’ve been sleeping better and 2, I’ve been looking after sick grandchildren. I’ve now caught their tummy bug. So have been up and down for the last two nights. I was hoping for some improvement but as yet there is none. I was looking forward to a day at Hampton Court Palace with my niece but it’s looking unlikely. I know that Anniebach and Maw are having a difficult time and I’m still keeping them in my thoughts.
Some good news to share my very sick DiL saw her cancer consultant yesterday and her liver is clear. So that’s good news. I hope the rest of my fellow insomniacs are getting some sleep.

Lovetopaint037 Thu 30-Nov-17 08:27:22

Used to sleep like a log until I was past fifty when my hormones dropped. Since then haven’t had a full nights sleep ranging from no sleep, waking every hour and a half, going to sleep for a while and then waking up and staying awake until it is time to get up and feeling like a zombie. Lately waking up about1.30 and reading until four or later. One thing I have discovered is the iPad wakes me up and does not help insomnia. In fact I use it to wake myself up in the mornings. I am retired so could go back to sleep but never can.

Anniebach Fri 01-Dec-17 03:40:12

3.40 etc,

Teetime Fri 01-Dec-17 09:12:01

Same thing last night awake from 1.45 to 4.30

Anniebach Sat 02-Dec-17 04:32:53

4.20am, same as every night , this is how it is now

cornergran Sat 02-Dec-17 08:42:29

So sorry annie, I can’t imagine how tired you are. I think about you often, especially the last couple of days as I’ve been across the bridge. Hope you can rest today.

Anniebach Sat 02-Dec-17 09:01:18

cornergran, you crossed the bridge? Then you saw there is only one footpath x

cornergran Sat 02-Dec-17 09:46:17

Yes, had a night in Cardiff and visited sister in law near Pontypridd. . Every time we cross one of the bridges I remember the very long round trip from Essex in a very dodgy car just before the first bridge was opened. That original bridge and the M4 were lifesavers. We use both bridges regularly, depends where we are going, in fact we joke we’ve bought them by now. Second crossing yesterday, will use the original next week. Really looking forward to not having to pay a toll in future. How are you today? Hope some food is staying down and your strength is increasing.
