Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

NanKate Tue 21-Nov-17 07:49:13

Anniebach you must be totally exhausted with your non sleep pattern at present. Would you consider short term trying sleeping tablets ?

My DS who is going through a difficult time takes half a tablet or a whole one if he is desperately tired and then other days no tablets at all. He does not want to become dependent. It is getting him through.

I hope you are getting support from friends through this very sad time in your life.

cornergran Tue 21-Nov-17 08:43:54

A bit like nankate’s son I have sleeping tablets prescribed to use if I have more than a few nights where I don’t sleep at all. Like Sunday night was. Slept last night so no need of them. One prescription usually lasts a year. The doctor recommended it. I was very reluctant at first but it does help to know if I get to the desperate stage I can have some respite. I know you have a physical issue that keeps you awake annie, it could be worth asking you doctor what he thinks. You’ve so much to cope with at the moment. X

I take sleeping pills , I am sooo sleepy the damn reflux is the cause of the waking , this is why i slept some afternoons, to sleep the tablet off ! I must battle on x

Anniebach Wed 22-Nov-17 03:50:35

3.40am and mug tea

Nelliemoser Thu 23-Nov-17 02:42:23

Anyone up?

Nelliemoser Thu 23-Nov-17 03:15:35

Feeling really miserable. Back hurting, Christmas is coming on fast my season of feeling isolated.
OH is no real emotional support and when I think about it never has been .
OH getting increasingly reclusive. Any suggestions that he ought to look after himself, (his sleep patterns are dire. )He has often taken a suggestion he ought to look after himself as a criticism and then just cannot just talk about it again .
In the past he has said something about a reminder I made, OH said " He would have been alright if I had not mentioned it."
Bloody Aspergers. I really don't know what more I can do. Total lack of a sense of humour. No fun . I am pissed off. It's a while since I needed to post on this night watch.
Take care everyone. All typos down to the hour.

Hello. Just saying hi as wide awake once again with migrane and usual pains. Had such plans for Thursday but think I'll have to push on with Friday's plans if I can. Could be worse.

grannysyb Thu 23-Nov-17 04:43:43

Anniebach Fri 24-Nov-17 03:01:32

2.55am and mug tea. This wretched reflux will not ease up,

Hope everyone sleeps well tonight

MissAdventure Fri 24-Nov-17 05:17:54

I haven't slept at all, yet. I've been wandering around my flat. Really tired, but it'll be time to get up soon.

cornergran Fri 24-Nov-17 05:24:05

Funny old night. Bit of sleep but not for long at a time. Think that’s it now. Hope annie has drifted back to sleep and you'll get through your day Missadventure. Rest when you can. Frustrating, isn’t it?

ninathenana Fri 24-Nov-17 05:31:33

I woke at 5.00am and couldn't get back to sleep so have left H in peace.
I do occasionally wake at silly o'clock but have had 5 hrs sleep so consider myself lucky reading this thread. I hope you all manage a few hours.

Marmight Fri 24-Nov-17 06:05:59

I've been awake since 1.30. Catching a flight and waiting for the alarm to go off..... hopefully sleep on the plane. It's a 23 hour flight. Hope you managed to get some sleep Annie?

MawBroon Fri 24-Nov-17 06:57:54

Oh poor GN friends you have had a bad night. I have not been ignoring you but if I switch on the iPad I know that’s me for over an hour so I try to resist.
Just had another weep - in or on my way to bed or in the car seem to be low spots, perhaps because I am alone or is it the shock wearing off and the adrenaline dropping?
It doesn’t feel like morning as it is still pitch black but I suppose I could get up - but what for?
Wishing all of you inpain, whether physical or emotional, some respite - maybe another brew?

grannyactivist Fri 24-Nov-17 07:17:18

Oh dear Maw, it's often when we're alone that we allow our emotions to surface. If you're able to go back to bed for a further hour or two then perhaps do that.

Marydoll Fri 24-Nov-17 08:05:31

I'm sorry to hear you have all had a bad night. I did get some sleep on and off.
Maw, please look after yourself. Annie, I hope the reflux has settled down a bit. It is so debilitating.
I dreamt I had gone for a routine hospital check up on my hand and the most gorgeous doctor appeared in the waiting room looking for me. It was all so real. I woke up telling my DH that I had to get to hospital this morning for another op and we needed to find someone ASAP to child mind DGD! He thought I had gone mad.

Anniebach Sat 25-Nov-17 04:25:41

4.10am, woke at 2.45 decided to break the routine , not have the mug tea and just relax, didn't work so mug tea now. Don't like weekends ,don't like week days either.

NanKate Sat 25-Nov-17 06:55:52

I don't think the dark mornings help. Perhaps when the Spring arrives Annie and Maw your sadness will begin to lift. I do hope so. flowers

By then I should know if my DS has managed to cling onto his home, our wonderful GSs and my DinL will have gone to her Fancy Man. 2017 has been a dreadful year for some of us on GN.

MawBroon Sat 25-Nov-17 08:27:07

Oh dear Nankate , I do think if there is one thing worse than suffering oneself, it is seeing our children and grandchildren suffer. I do truly feel for you.
As to whether the sadness will lift?
From the time 44 years ago when we lost our baby son I have learned that pain and loss do not go away, but we become better able to deal with them.
I can never fill the hole in my life that paw occupied and it breaks my heart to know that I can never speak to him again or share the ups and downs of my life, the growing up of our lovely grandchildren and even the current political omnishambles.smile
But, short of turning my face to the wall, I shall go on as life goes on. And in the same way people learn to walk again after losing a leg, I will learn to cope. But there will never be a minute of my life that he is not still a part of.

Willow500 Sat 25-Nov-17 22:00:23

I do feel for you - both for your losses and also the medical issues keeping you awake. I tried to log in during the night but the iPad wouldn't connect. I was in and out of bed from 2.30 until I finally came down at 5 and tried to sleep on the sofa. We were out last night and I think I had one glass of wine too many so felt very ill all night - not drunk - it just doesn't agree with me any more. Finally drifted off at 6 and had to get up again at 7 as we were meeting friends for breakfast! Bacon and egg after the night I had shock Hope everyone has a better night -including me!

Anniebach Sun 26-Nov-17 03:26:26
