What do you listen to in the car?

Classic FM.

That sounds good to me! Do like music loud in the car when I am on a long journey. ( To me that means about 70 miles). Queen, Lilly Allen, T Rex, Rod Stewart, Status Quo and recently a brilliant 70s compilation. If only we had a digital radio in the car it would be permanently tuned to Gold.

It's usually Classic FM in our car. My choice, not the OH's.

Absolute Radio for me in the mornings and Talk Sport coming home from work.

Classic FM or Radio 4.

We had a caravan in Dorset and had a 2hr drive to get there. I used to listen to Jeff Wayne's War of The Worlds, it made such a pleasant change and the journey passed quickly.

I listen to BBC podcasts when I'm out on my own. I download so many, and listen to them chronologically that I'm about 2 years behind at the moment, so I make the most of time alone to listen, to try and catch up.

I have a mixture of comedy, science, drama, documentaries and, of course, Woman's Hour. In the car, I listen to the lighter ones; as Tricia says, you have to concentrate on the driving.

If I'm on my own, nothing at all, but if DH is driving, Classic FM or radio 4. If I was listening to CFM on my own in the car I would be continually shouting "why are you playing that again? You've played it every day this week!!” and "can't you find a better bit of Bach than that??" Inevitably this would end in me turning this into road rage! We also have music recorded on a USB stick.

hen I bought my latest car, I was really looking forward to having a CD player as the last one only had a tape player. 'New' car was second hand and the only thing that doesn't work is ... you guessed it! Shame, given choice I would be enjoying The Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell and Les Miserbles ... As it is I enjoy radio - a bit of 2,3 or 4 according to my mood, but in the mornings, just silence.

Radio 2 or Classic FM.

Absolute when in range or cds varying between Lana del ray (husbands choice but makes me suicidal!) and my playlist on my phone with mostly rock classics, Joan armatrading etc

I too have War of the Worlds on disc, Micheal Jackson, Mike Oldfield, ELO, Genesis and Capital Gold, Radio 4 .

If I'm on my own in my little car Mildred (who is being traded in tomorrow for a Kia Rio which as yet has no name)either Smooth FM or Classic FM depending on the time of day and my mood.
If I am with DH in the BIG car then its a shuffle from his I Pad downloads. He recently bought the STAX album after the brilliant Jules Holland prom - brilliant. Otherwise its an eclectic mix- he's really into a huge variety of music and keeps me up to date well whereas I'm the Classics knowledge.

And don't forget the occasional passenger who never stops talking

It's been a very long time since I put a CD on in my car...

When we still had a car, it was mostly Bee Gees or brass bands.

Radio 4, Radio3, Classic FM, or the stuff I have recorded: various classical, English folk songs, Beatles, Françoise Hardy, Johnny Cash.

Hands up all those who sing or have sung in a choir who take the opportunity of a solo trip in the car to shove in a CD and practice their part in a requiem mass?

Radio is permanently set to Radio 4, occasionally play a CD, but very rarely, can't remember the last time.

I listen to radio 2 or Beautiful South cds.
