What the heck?!

There is a thread about this on Mumsnet and I have totally lost the plot - even googling a definition takes me no further forward.

Am I just thick?

Why cannot we just accept people as they are, label-free, and with the freedom to enjoy anything they wish regardless of gender?

Why do folk have to take things to extremes: e.g. intact males wanting to be in female changing rooms?

A little less stridency and a more gentle approach seem better options.

SueDonim, indeed they were but this was a convicted paedophile with allegations of rape against him. It was the powers that be who failed that woman.

If we move to SI for transgender women there will be nothing anyone can do to prevent such a situation.

SueDonim, I already signed the petition against SI because I think it is dangerous as well as a nonense. However, I do think there are certain places like public toilets where it is possible to be overly worried. Sadly those who abuse the system like this end up ruining any tolerance for those who really struggle with gender identity.

I read that too SueDonim [the SI prisoner] just disgraceful that the authorities placed him in a womens prison.
