Can you name ten things

That you like about yourself
Physical attributes, or personality traits? I asked for ten because its hard to stick to three when it comes to songs or heartthrobs; but can everyone count ten reasons to feel good about yourself?

sarahellenwhitney Mon 18-Sept-17 13:00:11

I would rather say' what I don't'
For starters ? 'a pushover'.

Morgana Mon 18-Sept-17 14:13:59

We r all still here. So we are good at surviving!

Morgana Mon 18-Sept-17 14:14:59

And there is an amazing amount of kindness and caring on G.N.

meandashy Mon 18-Sept-17 14:15:51

I find this difficult too but as I haven't met anyone here I'll plat along...
I keep my hair nice
I have vivid blue eyes
I'm caring
I love my dgd
I care for my (small) circle of friends
I fight for fairness and justice
I'm articulate
I'm a good cook
I make great cakes
I am not bad at writing poetry

Wow. That took me some time to put down.
Thank you for making me look at myself in a non negative way ?

Morgana Mon 18-Sept-17 14:18:55

Rereading the posts the vast majority are what might be considered as 'feminine virtues'. What more masculine traits of ourselves are we proud of?

radicalnan Mon 18-Sept-17 14:23:08

Not sure how to respond with so many paragons out there.

1) I can grow 3 whiskers overnight
2) I have feet that hobbits envy
3) Cook, so that our family motto is 'Eat Out'
4) Drive like a sloth
5) Loyal to old cardigans
6) Loud, and inappropriate giggler
7) Sing like a Banshee
8) Have stuck a fork and a peg to my own hair with Gorrilla
glue, not many people can do this
9) Mother to the best kids in the world
10) Naughty and proud of it

Stella14 Mon 18-Sept-17 14:23:57

I'm kind
Tolerant
Funny
Loving
Optimistic
Intelligent
Good at putting others at ease
Politically active in defence of society & animals/wildlife
Good at my job
I'm fiercely in love with my husband

It does feel slightly odd listing the best things about self, but I thing it's good for us psychologically, do kudos to the op

Shesanana Mon 18-Sept-17 14:35:34

radicalnan so funny! grin

Smithy Mon 18-Sept-17 14:43:53

Great cook
Great taste in decor and home furnishings
Good listener
Well read
Haha! Probably about half of that list, far be it from me to blow my own trumpet, more the self deprecating type!

Rosina Mon 18-Sept-17 15:02:35

English reserve makes me shrink from even thinking about it but I have always felt so strongly that my dear Dad, who had nothing in the world's terms, left me a happy heart and an unconquerable soul. Two wonderful traits to have.

JaneD3 Mon 18-Sept-17 15:26:44

Love it Radicalnan! You made me laugh out loud.

Suvid Mon 18-Sept-17 15:36:45

New to the site and have enjoyed following it for a few months.
I think you should ask a friend to name the 10 things - it might be different to yours! ?

morethan2 Mon 18-Sept-17 16:13:12

Easier to name ten faults.
I'm prone to laziness
I'm a bit of a scatter brain
I'm over sensitive
I'm getting fatter
I'm mathematically challenged
I've got no artistic talent whatsoever
I can be impatient
I'm no good at sport
I keep loosing stuff
I almost always look a bit of a mess.

Marianne1953 Mon 18-Sept-17 17:06:34

No

Caro1954 Mon 18-Sept-17 17:09:10

Nope ...

Imperfect27 Mon 18-Sept-17 17:20:40

Radicalnan grin Yes, very naughty indeed by the sounds of it.

About 30 years ago I had such trouble trying to come up with 3 assets, I asked my son. His answer has stayed with me: "You're good fun, a good Mum,..... (pause,) and someone to talk to." I'll take that.

But I can add I am loyal, honest, trustworthy, friendly and reliable , plus I have a wide and ready smile.

Lastly, one of my greatest accolades. A friend once announced at a gathering that I am what she termed "an encourager".

NannyKasey Mon 18-Sept-17 18:26:23

radicalnan grin

My list
(hopefully) a good mother (they are both in their 20s and they don't hate me so probably OK with that one grin)
A besotted Nanny to my Fabulous DGDs
Not afraid of change
A survivor
Loyal
Honest
Reliable
Friendly
Always there for friends if needed
Will always buy a round in the pub

kittylester Mon 18-Sept-17 18:36:11

I've just asked DH - he appears to have gone to the loo!'confused

MissAdventure Mon 18-Sept-17 18:47:09

Probably to have a think, kitty. smile

rentawitch Mon 18-Sept-17 19:01:02

Hmm... hair, shoulders, sense of humour, intelligence, voice, laid backness, friendliness, openness, resourcefulness, reliability. And i hated writing that.

pollyperkins Mon 18-Sept-17 19:21:33

I find this difficult, not out of modesty but more from lack of self esteem. So I'll try - it's probably a good exercise psychologially.
1. Nice legs especially ankles according to DH
2. Forearms arent too bad but getting wrinkly now
3. I dont swear
4. I try to be kind to others but not always good at it
5. Funny (haha not peculiar) according to DC ie sense of humour
6. Fairly intelligent
7. Can be witty sometimes as in quick repostes
8. Honest and reliable
9. Faithful and considerate to DH
10. Can sing a bit

pollyperkins Mon 18-Sept-17 19:25:51

I asked DH if he could think of 10 good things about me and he said 100s ! But did not elucidate

DanniRae Mon 18-Sept-17 21:08:47

I (hope) I am:
A good mum
Funny
Thoughtful
A good listener
Generous
A good cook
Kind
A good host
A good friend
Quite intelligent

I also found this very difficult and feel weird putting this out there but you did ask!
