Nanabilly I am with you on the full-face makeup. I went through a 'phase' in recent years where I bought all the stuff and thought I was improving my look. I think I just lost a bit of confidence as my skin noticeably began to age and a few blemishes started to appear. But I have returned to the natural look - DH says I don't need it (love him!) and prefers my natural look and I have grown to accept me again - warts and all .

For years I had a Kitkat with my (otherwise frugal) lunch. Now I never do. When I had one for a change on holiday recently I was bemused at their former appeal but then I think they have changed. The chocolate seems to taste worse and the smaller bar is just irritating.

Since retiring I don't wear dresses or skirts much, but live in skinny jeans.

Buying new clothes. I launder and look after the old ones.

Feeling guilty all the time. I live life day by day now and enjoy it without feeling I owe someone else (employers chiefly) my time and attention.

I still love: books, reading, drama, clothes, jewellery, dressing up, cooking, food, Champagne, walks, the countryside, the coast, old buildings, art galleries and museums, Venice, eating out (can't afford to do much of that though!), my family.

Can't have given up completely.

I've not worn skirts and dresses for so long I forgot them. Actually, it's tights that I fell out of love with.

Make up (apart from lipstick) is another out.

Everytime I read this thread Im reminded of something else.

As a youngling, not yet a Granny (I hope to be blessed with some one day)

Facebook! Yes. Almost a year sober from all that negative, keeping up with the Jones crap.
And the constant snide posts from family memberserk about one another.

I'm always surprised when I'm out and about and someone recognises me when I'm not wearing make up; [something I would never have done for most of my life, but now I can't be bothered to put it on unless I'm seeing the grandchildren and fear that a makeupless granny would scare them].

Outs, skin foundation never use it any more just lots of moisturiser. Yes, yes, yes to high heels, I rarely wear them either, just one pair for special occasions and they are punishing, feel very glad to kick them off at the end of the day. Magazines, so little content, although I quite enjoy them at the hairdressers, even the trashy ones like "Heat" but I'd never waste my money on them now, rather buy a book.

Ins, grandchildren naturally, A Berghaus jacket so easy to transport, never have to worry about it being creased, my Seasalt rain mac, wouldn't have bought either a few years ago or Jansport rucksack, Fit Flops, Van Dal loafers, ankle boots for winter, leggings, eyebrow products, defintely more important than mascara, now the lashes are becoming sparser Jo Malone perfumes, flat white coffees, coffee pod machine, bookshops both new and second hand for browsing, spend more time in Waterstones than any clothes shop now, The Times and Sunday Times, Cote restaurants really like them, National Trust days, the natural world, trees, flowers, lakes, beautiful coastlines, so much more imporant as you get older good for the soul, my kitchen which is about 3 years old, I love my silestone work surfaces, pull out tall cupboard, fitted eye level oven with microwave above and induction hob, White Company diffusers, my laptop, my husband bought me a tablet for my birthday a couple of years ago but I don't like it so he uses it, lovely bed linen. That'll do for starters I know I'll think of more but that'll do for now and of course nearly forgot GRANSNET and to a lesser extent MN

I thought I was in love with Tesco lime curd, but I was helping at the RNLI shop last week, and think I have changed my affection to their passion fruit curd. Yum - will have to clear the shelves next visit in case they de-range it. Had a love affair with Waitrose aubergine pickle at one stage. Disclaimer: I have no financial relationship with any retailer of provisions, lol.

Can't think of 'OUTs' as I love clothes, still wear makeup, never worn stilettos. Hmm: I don't like shopping and I don't like battling the streets in London. I don't like housework either but that has to be done. I don't like soaps apart from Pobol y Cwm Omnibus. So there are a few after all!

Loads of 'INs' as there's so many things I want to do and so little time to fit everything in. This means though that I have things to look forward to.

OUT had to go any footwear other than sandals and flip flops thanks to a neurological condition which produces intense heat in feet and hands.

Listening to music. It's odd this but I prefer the spoken word these days though I still feel fluttery when I hear Elvis.

Talking politics. After years of arguing with young people who say voting is pointless I have given up and suspect they are right. Not that I wouldn't vote.

House cleaning. In my mid 70s I have just started employing a cleaner and love the results.

TV. I can take it or leave it.

Agreeing to help everyone who asks. Except where grandchildren are involved. I can't resist them.

Traipsing round the shops. I don't mind the supermarket but clothes and gift shopping I just hate.

Being indoors. If I can't get out for a walk or swim or a couple of hours of gardening everyday I feel imprisoned.

Facebook. I use it to see what my friends and offspring are up to but wider family members' addiction to wacky ideas and hate posts have made me realise how dangerous it can be.

Long haul flights. Very sad this but I can't cope with the 34 hour door to door journey to my daughter any more.

I'm sure I could go on but I can't sit still for long.

I've given up on watching reality shows like X Factor and I'm a Celebrity but still can't give up Strictly, BGT or Bake Off (reserved judgement on the new presenters). I'll have to give up Dr Who too, in protest, at the stupid BBC thinking a woman will be suitable for the part. Instead of having the tv on all the time when I'm in the house for background noise I am now just switching it off.

I am paying more attention to my garden and decided to spend my ISA ( 1/2 % interest) on an extension instead of letting it fester. I'm not leaving any cash for the taxman as I'm giving it away in dribs and drabs to my children. I'm try to give up meat.
