Just heard the news this morning a new baby due for William & Kate next year I hope she stays well as she suffered with the last two pregnancies.Sending congratulations.

It was just a joke!!!! - honest folks. smile

I had 3 too so maybe I am one!

I was just surprised she had embarked on another, given her appalling pregnancies. Maybe she will put on a couple of pounds after this pregnancy just to make us normal mortals feels a bit better!

I am indifferent to the news really. The Queen had four children. It's not as though they'll ever see their newborns as 'another mouth to feed', is it?

I feel a little bit uncomfortable about a huge monarchy. The Queen has done a grand job but modern royalty is becoming more and more like 'celebrity' and as for Kate being poorly, we have to remember she has an army of servants to see to her every need, plus doctors on hand, cooks, nannies for the children and chauffeurs to take her places. She may feel sick but getting over it it is all she has to worry about. I wish her well.

Meanwhile, Harry is having trysts with his film star in exclusive locations, the elders are enjoying time in their secluded castles, shooting a few stags, and William can have as much time off as he needs to be with his family. Who knows what they are up to right now? Pimms on the lawn, courtesy of servants? Is Beatrice basking in the sun on a friend's private island somewhere?

The privilege rankles a bit. I have often said there will always be a sector of society that is obscenely wealthy and there isn't much we can do about it, but I am beginning to find the monarchy a bit of an anachronism. I do feel it should be whittled down and I do feel they should have to do more for their privileges.

I am not quite sure how we bring that about. It'll never happen I suppose. I cannot say that Mr and Mrs Wales producing lots of children fills me with delight. They are producing the rich, island-basking teenagers of the future.

No different from the Beckhams really.

Nice news at this current troubled time. Hope the Queen is on GN now. She certainly qualifies as a Gran. Soop's kitchen your Majesty?

Sar53 Mon 04-Sept-17 15:23:16

I also wish them well and hope that Kate doesn't suffer too much. Three is hardly a large family these days.

I really don't like the 'royal bashing' that goes on, yes there are certain members of the royal family who are not always seen in the best light, but I for one am glad that we still have a Monarchy in this country.

DanniRae Mon 04-Sept-17 15:26:37

Delighted to hear the news of another baby for William and Kate - I hope she gets over the terrible sickness sooner than past pregnancies.
(Thank goodness she won't have to worry about William getting drunk and getting caught drink driving another women's car like poor Coleen Rooney!!)

devongirl Mon 04-Sept-17 15:26:49

TBH it seems to be Prince Andrew's daughters who are always off on holiday; although having said that, I gather Trump has also had a phenomenal amount of holiday since becoming president, so maybe that's not the way to go!

Anniebach Mon 04-Sept-17 15:34:52

Why will she not have to worry about William getting drunk and get caught driving another woman's car?

durhamjen Mon 04-Sept-17 15:36:22

Other people are only supposed to have two if they are on benefits.

politicalscrapbook.net/2017/09/families-expecting-third-child-will-be-2500-a-year-worse-off-due-to-tory-welfare-cuts/

Will they have their welfare cut?

paddyann Mon 04-Sept-17 15:38:09

both a bit workshy ,if they lived on a council estate they'd be being slated in the press. This gives her an excuse for another LONG maternity leave and a few more holidays.Tiemfor the monarchy to end when Lizzie dies, they'll breed like rabbits in an effort to keep their life style

paddyann Mon 04-Sept-17 15:43:16

och Anniebach he 'll have DRIVER...like his mother did ,you know the one who got the blame for her not wearing a seatbelt ?

Anniebach Mon 04-Sept-17 15:44:13

It may be wise to have a third child, Margaret didn't do a good job of being pushed out of line, Harry is going the same was as her.

The second must feel rather lost when number one gets on the throne

paddyann Mon 04-Sept-17 15:45:45

Sara53 many of us left forelock tugging in the past where it belongs ,the monarchy is an out of date concept in a modern world. They are NO better than the rest of us and not nearly as good as many ...though they seem to believe they are

Anniebach Mon 04-Sept-17 15:45:47

Didn't think of that Paddyann, plus the Windsors never get prosecuted

lemongrove Mon 04-Sept-17 15:50:20

Oh dear, One so hoped to go unrecognised Jane10 but I did try to be discreet and not mention Philip or the corgis.

Charleygirl Mon 04-Sept-17 16:24:53

I am delighted that she is pregnant again and sorry to hear that she has early morning sickness so badly again.

They can afford it- why not?

ginny Mon 04-Sept-17 16:37:56

Just when we thought it was safe to surface after all the Diana fuss ! The media will be thrilled. Pages and pages of , boy / girl ? Like her/him ? What shawl/pram to buy to be just like them ?
Ho him, hope all goes well .

Jane10 Mon 04-Sept-17 16:46:23

Should you not be HRHLemongrove?

goldengirl Mon 04-Sept-17 16:48:42

My DiL suffers badly from sickness during her pregnancies and yet is about to produce number 5!!!! She doesn't care the care that the Duchess gets of course but she is being regularly checked out.

Cherrytree59 Mon 04-Sept-17 17:06:10

How would you feel if you read a thread insulting your pregnant daughtersad

Its such such a shame that it is thought to be OK to use insults when mentioning the Royal babies
The Queen is a grandmother and great Grandmother.
We have threads on GN welcoming new babies into the world and congratulating grandparent on forthcoming births!

ginny Mon 04-Sept-17 17:21:28

Most of us are not being insulting. I'm sure we all hope baby and mother are fine. We just get fed up with having so much trivial yakking about it for so long. Royal or not pregnancies are usually only interesting to those who are close

ginny Mon 04-Sept-17 17:22:47

Just to add of course we are all glad to hear all goes well.

grannyactivist Mon 04-Sept-17 22:48:48

Congratulations to the 'parents in waiting'. Also to my youngest daughter who has just announced her own third pregnancy. smile

trisher Tue 05-Sept-17 09:36:28

Oh dear another one, and Harry hasn't even started yet. Shouldn't someone have told them 2 will do? But then I suppose if you don't have to worry because daddy and granny will cough up as much as you need, you can have as many as you want. And it's not as if she has some sort of a career to go back to is it?
Is it the same posters welcoming Royal babies on here who have supported the cap on benefits for a third child I wonder? So some babies are more welcome than others.

Tegan2 Tue 05-Sept-17 09:39:39

grannyactivist; lovely to hear your good news. I was only thinking of you the other day!

Anniebach Tue 05-Sept-17 09:43:36

Not have a career to go back to? Do all mothers have a career to go back to?
