It's always friday

The only constant we have,like many others, is bin day. Getting older has been likened to the toilet roll effect, new roll, takes longer to get to the same place, old roll, same spot comes round far more quickly, or something to that effect!

Cherrytree59...... It could be that people anticipate dread or happy events in different ways. Someone actually once said 'Time flies when you're having fun" ....and for someone enduring intense, physical pain, it's likely that time would pass more slowly.

...but this was more about Friday's happening too often these days, or something to that effect....

That difference between our ever increasing chronological age and a stationary unit of time, is a gap that only grows wider as we get older. That might explain why one week, (relative to our ever increasing age), would feel shorter and happen much faster for a 60 year old than say, a 25 year old.

To your question: As I said, people anticipate joy or fear differently. Perhaps others here can provide additional insight.

Friday for me. It's the weekly shopping day. We come back from the supermarket, unload the car and put said shopping away in cupboard and fridge/freezer. Then its the long anticipated glass of wine (Or two!) and maybe a few nibbles. Love our routine we've settled into over the years and, although I've retired and could shop when I like, Friday still seems special to me. OH still works so we still look forward to Friday as we have the weekend together to look forward to.

It seems to me that the Friday big shop tradition (?) is waining. My DD seems to only 'big shop' every month or so and is always running out of supplies and having to rush out and buy groceries willy nilly. I couldnt be so disorganised - I may have to pop to the local shop for milk and bread but we plan every days meal while we do the Friday shop.

I'm still working, so the days that come around too quickly, are the days that I have to do double shifts. I love Fridays as I don't usually work them. The problem is that they go by too quickly.

When I worked friday was always my favourite day, since retiring I feel as though every day's a Friday. Isn't life great.
