Ramblingrose To save Jane10 having to risk being in trouble with GNHQ for advertising, I shall tell you that her pen name is Jane Tulloch and she has published two books, entitled "Our Best Attention" and "Assured Attention." Both have short stories about goings-on among the staff of a department store. They are on Amazon (The Kindle editions are the best value!)

I have discovered I enjoy writing poetry and now belong to two different groups. Yes Jane do tell us more about your books. AND these people with multiple user names - do they reflect different parts of your persona?

I'm really good at watching TV!

Since I retired I have discovered I am quite lazy I always wanted to learn a language and I have started lessons but I still don't work at it as I should between lessons so not getting very far.
I have also always wanted to be able to paint but have no talent. Can't draw at all and have no confidence so been afraid to try. I have though just booked up for some lessons that start in a few months. I am excited at the thought of it but also a bit afraid.

Discovered the garden. Was always meaning to brush up leaves, prune bushes, plant more colourful blooms and so on, but never had time.

Now I have a lovely courtyard style back garden full of colour all year round.

I spend hours here just pottering. Can't believe how relaxing this is and am so glad I found this hobby late in life.

I expect to see Illtellhim vanish in a puff of smoke as soon as GNHQ notice the multiple usernames - I wonder who else will vanish at the same time? Illtellhim is on GN From 7 to 9? Longer today, I think, as there was a thread he/she could really get some teeth into and leave some toothmarks.

I have actually gone the opposite way with cooking. I recently made an inedible cauliflower cheese for the second time. How does sauce curdle if it doesn't have egg in it?

I don't like the multiple personas. I have thought that some people appear to almost gang up in an odd way and that would explain it. It was also said in a provocative way. At least that account should be cancelled.

DameJudyClench My favourite is vegetarian Cumberland sausages in a sausage sandwich with a small dollop of brown sauce.

I can't really think of anything that I am better at now than before except being on my own which I quite enjoy now.

Reading all about your craft interests I remembered a couple of years ago I took up cross stitch, my eldest grand daughter asked to learn. She is now much better at it than I am and produces wonderful presents for Christmas, Birthdays and her friends' new babies. She says she finds it relaxing after teaching 8year olds!

I hadn't done any crocheting since the craze went round when I was at school, but since retiring I have done a few cardigans and bootees for my new grandson. I also offered to help out with a bit of book-keeping for the church and that has evolved into becoming the Treasurer- something I never expected!

I found a talent for knitting. I had done it as a child but gave up for many years. Now I get excited at all the lovely new yarns and patterns available.

Having had my self-confidence in everything severely dented by DPs as a youngster, it is only now in my late 60s that I have found out I am rather nice, and people like to talk to me!
I also have found out I am quite good at baking/cooking etc. and I enjoy it. I recently sold a lot of preserves, especially marmalade to help my church. Very profitable it was too. Since moving house, I do less now.
Going to the WI college, Denman, and doing various courses has shown me I actually know quite a lot. Not only that, but I am quite good at it too...

Diggingdoris I am jealous of your talent! I can spend ages trying to arrange a bunch of flowers, and it always looks like I just chucked them in the vase!

I have loved reading since I was a child. Now I am retired I can read more.
Used to love colouring in and now you have adults one I found it's very relaxing .

Not retired yet, but have discovered that I have a talent for art.

Also found out that I like vegetarian sausages

Like Lynda and justwokeup - I've discovered or should that be re-discovered? my love of cooking and also knitting.

Apart from anything else, why bother?

With more time on our hands retirement gives us the chance to explore deeper into our interests. Just before I retired I fancied learning how to arrange flowers properly and signed up at college. That was such an enjoyable experience and I found I had a talent for it, so I went further and am now qualified as a florist. That spread from just keeping garden tidy over the working years, to now being an avid plant addict, sowing and propagating, learning Latin names etc. I'm amazed how much I've learnt.
