When we are Brexited.....

In town the other day I couldn't help but notice the number of cafes and bars with tables and chairs out side and I suddenly realised the huge impact them furriners have had on our culture and I now understand where the leavers were coming from.Sitting outside really isn't British. It's been imported from foreign parts. So when we are Brexited I expect to see the end to this sitting outside eating and drinking, which as we all know can lead to all sorts of problems, like a chill on your kidneys, or King Koff same as not wearing a vest in winter.
What do you expect/hope to see the end of after Brexit?

I'm still going for the border to be restored to the Roman Wall if Scotland doesn't Brexit- What do we call it then Engexit won't do the Welsh and Irish will be up in arms?

Rules changed when we joined the EU - may well be that we go back to not needing visas but if as they state we will be a 3rd country and treated the same as them it may well be that we do - let's hope not.

ROTUKXIT?
Just a minute while I put my teeth in and try again
ROTUKEXIT? but no! NI voted to remain

Walengexit

trisher Mon 24-Jul-17 14:27:54

WAENGEXIT- pronounced 'Wankexit' perhaps

trisher Mon 24-Jul-17 14:31:17

nightowl I am so pleased someone else was warned of the dangers of King Koff I did wonder if I was the only child threatened with dire consequences if I sat on a cold stone wall or didn't tuck my vest in properly.

I suppose I will have to unlearn all my French and Spanish once we 'breg-zit' (seems that's its proper pronunciation, if the number of tv reporters and presenters saying it like that is anything to go by!)
Actually, i've started unlearning it already - it seems to be so easy to do at my age that I am managing it with no effort whatsoever. Think I must have a gift for it!

MamaCaz Mon 24-Jul-17 14:45:00

My grandma used to warn me about sitting on cold walls too - i thought she said I would get King Kong! grin It's probably never gone away, but gone by some furrin' name that none of us understood. Once we breg-zit, i might stay off cold walls just in case, though!

Put your teeth in trisher
shock

trisher Mon 24-Jul-17 14:48:57

Oh now I'm worried I shall have to take extra care- do you suppose it's something like Asian 'flu, but just biding its time? Did someone say they were going to start manufacturing Liberty bodices again can I put my name down for some now?

Ana Mon 24-Jul-17 14:55:18

And me! Although I'm not sure how they'd work with boobs and/or a bra...last time I wore one I was about 6!

MamaCaz Mon 24-Jul-17 14:56:22

You might do better with fleece bloomers, as I think they all meant piles. As there aren't likely to piles of anything good around for quite a while after breg-zit, perhaps we should all start to plan ahead and kit out our underwear drawers accordingly!

I have it on good authority (well, the authority of a one time 11 year old) that king koff (or chin koff, or King Kong, take your pick) meant cold in your kiddleys or piles. I don't think at 11 we were sure what either of those involved so the details were a bit vague. Anyway, it seemed to be associated with sitting on the playground or on the edge of pavements or cold walls grin

rosesarered Mon 24-Jul-17 15:41:02

Day6.... grin that gave me a good laugh.

GillT57 Mon 24-Jul-17 17:49:10

I was always told I would catch 'yer death' confused if I sat on a cold stone wall, or went out with wet hair or went swimming within around 4 hours of eating anything..

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Jul-17 21:22:58

Me! I have my sewing machine up, ready and am raring to go, but the fleecy fabric has to come from the Far East these days, sorry for the delay.
It's a bit difficult to source those rubber buttons as well.

I may have to knit you one, it could be quicker.

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Jul-17 21:24:32

Don't sit on those electric heaters either - I have it on good authority that it can give you piles.

Wheniwasyourage Mon 24-Jul-17 22:19:52

We used to sit on the cold radiators in summer at school, back in the remote past, and got the usual warnings (from each other, not from anyone who actually knew anything about it) about getting piles. Then one day one of our apparently prim and proper teachers told us that the consequence of sitting on a radiator was that you developed corrugations which would show through a bathing costume, and that was much more effective in getting us to stop!

To go back to the results of being Brexited, there was a man on TV before the referendum who expected to get 3 butchers back on his High Street (nobody asked him whether he bought his meat from a butcher or a supermarket). I expect dramatic changes; not only good solid blue passports with none of this biometric nonsense (and of course I will go on my lord and master's husband's passport), but also back to pounds, shillings and pence. Women should stop going about in trousers and show their legs in decent skirts, and as for this equal pay rubbish - well!!

MamaCaz Mon 24-Jul-17 22:40:14

And our summers will be long and sunny again like they used to be, and we will have pure white snow every Christmas - but the trouble-free sort of snow that knows how to behave and doesn't disrupt our plans like this troublesome forrin' stuff does! Children will start addressing us all as Mr / Mrs ... once again, and only speak when spoken to. We will go back to good old black and white terrestrial TV - you know where you are with terrestrial TV!
You know, I think i might finally be starting to come round to the idea of this brexit lark grin

GracesGranMK2 Mon 24-Jul-17 22:56:02

Of course MamaCaz and we can spend those summers meeting up with Julian, Dick, Anne and Georgina and have our picnics with lashings of ginger beer to go with it.

I do like the idea of TV going off at 10.00 p.m. I must admit. I have a terrible habit of staying up too late.

trisher Tue 25-Jul-17 18:56:06

Oh What jolly fun! Now where did I put my hockey stick? Come on gals, bully off!

Ana Tue 25-Jul-17 19:14:43

Certainly not! I never liked hockey at school and I'm not starting again now - perhaps a gentle game of tennis, or even ping-pong...grin

suzied Tue 25-Jul-17 19:29:17

We'll have to have the national anthem when the telly finishes.

Jalima1108 Tue 25-Jul-17 19:31:44

Perms!! Will we all have to have our hair permed?

Home perms mean Twink
And a shampoo and set at the hairdresser's weekly.

Jalima1108 Tue 25-Jul-17 19:33:10

I nod off in front of the telly at about 9.45 (if I watch it) then I'm wide awake until gone midnight.
Will I last until 10pm for the National Anthem and the green spot disappearing?

Ana Tue 25-Jul-17 19:46:01

Goodness, how far back are we going? We've only been in the EU since the 70s! grin
