How do you spend your evenings?

OP recently said she only watched TV about once a week. DH and I watch most evenings-either something that's on or that we've recorded. We must watch a few hours most evenings. Usually we're glad to put our feet up after a busy day.
What do others do then?

I used to be a serial letter writer so nowadays I bore people by sending a couple of chapters via email. One friend I have known since we were 21 emails me at least x2 a day and they are never one liners.

I also watch recorded TV, dine around 7.30pm and amble upstairs after 10pm for a shower, bed and then I read until midnight, stroking Tara my cat when she joins me most nights.

Instead of all of this lying around I should be doing a massive clear up of my house.

I am no.5!

I like to sit in the conservatory and read until the light goes, then during the week I get my daily fix of Neighbours, sad I know. At weekends we'll go out to the cinema or for a meal. We usually record programmes to watch on rainy afternoons when we can't get out in the garden.

When the weather is good, as it has been lately we sit outside and eat, sometimes with a glass of wine often having a read. Don't watch any soaps but have been following a couple of things at 9pm, such as "In the Dark" tonight. Sadly that is my falling asleep time so invariably I'm having to catch up with them on BBC Iplayer, I have been doing that with the new Spanish thriller that was on BBC4 Saturday over the last couple of nights.

At this time of year I rarely watch TV
DH watches sport and Pointless
No TV on during daytime.

If we are at home with no visitors.
Then I potter in garden and play with 2 mad inherited cats.
Catch up on emails and text messages.
On GN of course and Pinterest.
Whilst sitting in the conservatory I either listening to the birds as I'm doing now or listen to some music

Then feet up with good book.
I love the light evenings and try to make th most of them
before its time to hibernate and watch some Scandi Noir (hopefully) smile

I love "Neighbours" too LadyGracie, then I usually flit between tablet (Gn) and tv. Often there will be a phone chat with a friend or my dc, off to bed about 11pm where I watch tv until I drop off!

Most evenings we watch a bit of TV, there`s never much more than one, maybe two programmes a night that we fancy, the rest of the time I come on my laptop, apart from making our late night drink.

Since we got a flat screen TV I can't bear to watch it, even if there is something on that I want to see.

I am at work all day, so spend the evenings catching up on housework, and doing ironing, whilst listening to the huge number of podcasts I have downloaded from the BBC.

Why can't you bear to watch your flat screen TV JackyB? I'm intrigued...
