Invisibility or "I think it was me actually"

Hope I've not done this to you,MawBroon because I have appreciated lots of your posts. But I sympathise because I know the feeling, especially in real life!

I often see the comment on here : "I thought it was just me". Well I have thought so too. I don't post frequently but have often made a "funny" aside, which someone later on virtually repeats and attracts a lot of grins for, with their name beside the grin. Or I ask a question. Never a reply. I used to think it was because I'm not an "original" poster (just over two years, so maybe still on probation) but it's reassuring to read that many feel the same. As someone pointed out it's probably because only the OP and very recent threads get read. I feel a bit better for reading this thread now ?

I do sometimes say something along the lines of 'As I said upthread' but I'm still ignored!!

kitty, I will never forget the time when, on one of GN's 'household tips' threads, someone else presented a tip I'd thanked you for previously as their own!

(and got a lot of praise for it!)

I also belong to this group , so we should all sign up to the invisibility club. It'll be alright cos no one can see us. Do your cars become invisible as well, like ours?

Ha ha Ana, I'd forgotten that. See, I'm invisible! Although I didn't know I knew any household tips!

When DH was planning how to do something, I would say "How about . . .?" and get the answer, "Hmmm!! No, that wouldn't work" Then a few days later he would come home from work to report that XXXX had a great idea, what he should do is - yes you've guessed, what I suggested that was turned down.

I have my threads the other way round, with the newest at the top. That way I only have to scroll down to the last one I remember reading, and work back up :-)

? Invisible, certainly not you Maw, I always read your posts. You and Kitty and Phoenix can always be relied on for witty, thoughtful and entertaining responses. I can often tell phoenix's threads by the OP. You 3 always make good reading in my humble opinion.

Seems you are in good company Maw Broom. One of the downside of getting older. I remember Sheila Hancock, saying that she sat in restaurants people watching, because she became invisible after her husband died.sigh...

I never feel invisible on GN......there are usually the same few posters queuing up to 'have a go' even when I say something along the lines of 'what a lot of weather we are having lately'

My DD says she has this happen to her a lot. She is of "statuesque" build and should be pretty noticeable.

I am also often invisble when I make a sensible comment in a conversation, until of course I say something silly and all at once everybody immediately takes notice of me and comments on it. You just can't win.

Indeed Jalima, I don't begin a thread very often as I nearly always get shot down in flames. I think I'm quite invisible most of the time. It's probably my own fault as I tend to steer clear of confrontation.

I am not at all argumentative in RL but then I don't know people like those on the politics threads either!
