Just wondered how many have read about the folk singer, Sam Lee, who, inspired by the nightgale's song, organises a sort of campfire-cum- songfest where he takes a selected group of fellow musicians into the night woods to sing and play along with the male nightingale's mating calls. The idea began as a BBC radio documentary and has grown. To protect the 5000 nightingale pairs in the UK, the event is open only to ticket holders and the location available to them only.
I find the whole idea of hearing and sharing the nightingale's song captivating and wish I could take part!
