Harrod's fashion photo

The irritating, ever-changing, sensitivity-unfriendly ad on the right of the Gransnet Active page showed one from Harrod's a minute or so ago. Two thin young people. The girl (young woman) was wearing a loose strappy top, so bare shoulders and arms plus, presumably a draughty midriff. The boy (young man) was wearing a warm-looking overcoat over some other clothing.

Ahoy! Harrod's! (and others) please can models who are pictured together be modelling clothes for the same season? If one needs to be dressed for hot weather, so does the other. Likewise when it's cold weather clothes.

But then I suppose fashion is all about male coverage and female uncoverage. As usual ?

The add is your own fault bags - they're based on your search history so you've obviously been checking-out posh shops!

All I've got is the Star Wars exhibition at the 02 hmm

Back to models, I agree about the female are the ones uncovered, better to show-off their skeletal frames.

Dosen't explain the Arriva add that I've got at the top of the mobile page.
I've certainly never looked at their page.

I agree it's daft to have two models in such opposite types of clothing in one add. Dare I say sexist even

I must not be considered posh enough to warrant a Harrod's ad. What have you been googling? For some reason somebody seems to think I want a brand new as yet uncompleted house, a Stokke high chair and pram, and Hotter shoes. hmm

I don't get Harrod adverts, don't even get M&S, how cheap am I

hildajenniJ Sun 07-May-17 09:26:47

I'm being offered clothing from LANDS'END. I do buy from them, but not for myself, for the grandchildren. I use the mobile site so my ads are at the bottom of the page.

ninathenana Sun 07-May-17 09:36:55

Hilda I use the mobile site. I have adds at the bottom but don't you get the annoying flashing ones right at the top too ?
I've tried add blocker but maybe I'm not doing it right.

I'm getting the Harrods advert too. I have never looked at their website or visited the shop in my life so can't be cookies at work ? Before that I was getting festive lights which will be cookies as I am always on the look out for garden lights.

Oh No now we are going to split into the group who have Harrod's Ads and the group who haven't! As a 'have not' I've got Simply Be, but I know it's my own fault I saw a dress I liked the look of and clicked on it (totally unsuitable), now they won't let me alone!

Maybe she's a Geordie lass and he's a soft southerner!

I get lots of Land's End ads. Not surprising as I buy stuff from them sometimes. I wonder which posh shops I've googled that provoked a Harrod's ad? At the moment it's an expensive travel mug. I did search for travel mugs recently cos my Costa one got dropped once too often and the rim plastic started cracking. Bought a new travel mug for about a fiver, not a £30 one that's in the current ad.

Not that I've any objection to people thinking I'm posh! Chortle McChortle ?

Now changed to a Ford Mondeo. I trashed one of those seven years ago and haven't looked at any car ads in the meantime. So much for on target advertising.

Anniebach Sun 07-May-17 12:18:31

I never Google posh shops, can't afford to buy from them so why bother looking

Galen Sun 07-May-17 13:07:13

I've got MSC cruising. Nothing to do with my habits. Is it?

sunseeker Sun 07-May-17 15:59:29

Galen you are probably famous (infamous?) in the cruising world grin

In the UK I have AdBlocker, so do not get any ads. I am in France and on my laptop at the moment and the advert I have is for 'Adobe Creative Cloud, S'abonner (subscribe)'.

No idea why.
