I got the Serie Expert by L'Oreal Professional Vitamino Colour Shampoo (Salon Size) 1500ml and conditioner. It lasts absolutely ages, I bought it in Jan 2015. I do use other shampoos at times for a change. It is good, but I see the latest reviews on Amazon suggest it has changed formula, not for the good!

I have bought on Amazon or Look Fantastic, or from a local hairdressing wholesalers, Hairways. They sell various professional shampoos, but not ALL the best makes.I know Paul Mitchell for example, only sell through hairdressing salons.

I was looking on Beautybible recently as I want a good deep conditioner. They suggest Pureology. beautybible.com/qa/qa-hair/dry-hair/.

Would be interested if anyone else has suggestions?

seacliff, I too have dry coloured hair and like you have spent so much on shampoos and conditioners. I'm interested in the ones you buy from hairdressers salon warehouses or amazon, because I always find my hair is so much nice when I've been to the hairdresser but of course the prices to buy in the salon are eye watering, can you recommend any specifics?

I like the Superdrug Naturally Radiant too sluttynan, especially their much cheaper version of Liz Earle cleanse and polish, and their under eye cream. I also use Aldi serem, not tried the Caviar one though.

I have soooo many hair products that I've wasted money on that didn't live up to the hype. I now find that cheap superdrug coconut oil, warmed and smoothed onto hair at night, is good. I shamppoo in morning and it helps my dry coloured hair a lot.

I do buy professional quality hair shampoo and conditioner from hairdressing wholesalers or Amazon. They cost more but last well.

HIldaW have a look at a company called 'Pure Nuff Stuff *www.purenuffstuff.co.uk/ . I moved to them after I began to find Neal's Yard products getting very expensive.

Like you I need to use organic face products because of my skin allergies.

I think the important thing when using any face or body cream is to use plenty and massage it well in in front of a mirror (for the face) so you know you have covered everywhere. I have used Bio Oil in the past but with the keloid scar at the top of my arm Lidl's Q10 day cream has worked very well and I will be quite happy to wear sleeveless tops this summer. I also use the same cream in my face neck and chest and the eye cream for my eyes. Avon Anew lip moisturiser in a lipstick shape is great for wrinkles round the mouth. I shall look for the Aldi Caviar cream next week in England as they dont have it in the Lidl shops here. Good to get a recommendation. Thank you.

I use a glycerine hand cream (Avon), then smooth my hands over my hair to tame those wispy bits and leave it smooth and shiny.

Bought some hair wax/jel stuff that was far too heavy for my hair - but has worked wonders on the hard skin on my feet!

I use vaseline intensive care, have done for years and am delighted that there's always a supply in the pound shop these days. I also believe, like radical to carry a bit of 'natural' collagen.

I don't like rich night creams as they clog up my pores so I use Dermologica intensive moisture balance day and night as it is light and easily absorbed. I have stopped using foundation and use a tinted moisturiser which I think looks better on mature skin.

Valeriej I saw the chin-up thing on FB but was very wary of going for the free offer, just pay p/p as I tried that once with a face cream only to find they were charging my card with over £100 and would have done it every month if I hadn't spotted it and got onto my card company, who not only cancelled the monthly payment but got my £100 back as well. The girl I spoke to said this is happening all the time with seemingly great offers of supposed "free samples" but that's just a ruse to get your card details so they then send a pot every month and charge, and the free sample isn't free at all.
I'd really like to know whether anything like this happened with the chin-up strap as I'm quite interested in getting one.

I used Boots No 7 Lift and Luminate a few months ago and it caused my face to become red, dry sore and itchy, awful stuff. I would not go out for a week as my face looked a total mess. I have not got particularly sensitive skin and nothing else has ever reacted the way that did I tried to post a review on their website, twice, but strangely enough they never printed it and when I wrote asking why it had not been included they said that not all reviews were printed, strange that!

I haven't heard of using haemorrhoid cream on your face apart from the bags under your eyes, because it's supposed to shrink them. I don't think I could stand the smell on my face though.

That's right MagicWand I was told to advise the same about olive oil.

I won some of these products and they are also available in Superdrug They plough all the profit back into the NHS and do a fabulous oil with neroli in it

My mother wore make up all her adult life, Max Factor foundation cream followed by powder which was patted on, then lipstick ,then she wiped her lip sticked finger on her powder puff and used it as rouge.i loved watching her. She washed it off with soap,water and face flannel.She had perfect wrinkle free fine skin all her life. At 89 her skin was better than mine. I think wearing quite heavy make up protected her skin from sun damage.

My daughter uses nipple cream as lip balm.

I am shocked, still after all these years, at the amount of slap that is marketed in this country. The first thing you see when entering a Boots is all the cosmetics! Same for Superdrug and other places. American chemist chains, like CVS or Rite-Aid in New England look more like grocery stores or a Woolies with household staples. Not much makeup at all... skin-hair products, vitamins, along with masses of OTC meds etc, yes.

For face, I use night cremes and add a bit of water to them for day and the jar lasts twice as long.

I do stay away from cremes on the face that have lanolin in them as that makes me break out in spots.

I'm a Nivea addict - I love the Light one. I also use Superdrug Naturally Radiant products because they smell delish and don't bring me out in eczema. All cheap and not luxurious, but I do have nice skin at age 69.

I am an Infant Massage trainer and a few years ago we were alerted that there's been some research done with olive oil on adult skin which has shown that, when it's in prolonged contact, it can cause the lipid layer in the skin to break down. We were told it's great for breaking down cradle cap but really shouldn't be used otherwise.

I love the Aldi Caviar creams; they work well on my dry & sensitive skin. (As others have said, at £6.99 they're brilliant!) At night I often use Bio Oil (both the "original" and the cheaper versions like Superdrug's) and I think these are great as well. A little oil goes a long way and a bottle seems to last for ages.
