I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

Well that is a pain - it is awful to get all psyched up for a procedure and have it delayed - I know - I have twice been in hospital awaiting surgery the next day and then been sent home as not fit.

It does sound as though this procedure is not too traumatic from the reassurances of other posters; and I hope that it all goes ahead soon. flowers

Hi all, thank you for all your best wishes. They have made me feel a whole lot more cherished.

Currently snuggled on my chair, piles cushion underneath me, pillow on my sore back, waiting to watch Graham Norton. I'm last on the list tomorrow so nil by mouth from lunch so I've sneaked some supper to fill up on tonight.

It's not the procedure as such which is bothering me, but lying on my back for up to two hours, the doc doing it has said. My arthritis has really played up in here, hence stronger painkillers, leading to piles and laxatives! Lovely eh? Still, keep smiling.

I have had a couple of upsets over my little doggie, I am missing her like crazy.

Ann Thank you for keep phoning, it is lovely to hear from you, looking forward to seeing you again. Xxx

I hope you are all ok and enjoying thadis lovely weather, lots of love to you all. Xxx

Hi all, angiogram went ok apart from the back pain which was really painful even with pain relief. Had a cardiac MI yesterday, same again really, pain in my back for an hour in the tunnel.

Consultants had a meeting this morning, conclusion of which is they are doing a TAVI operation. Has anyone had one of these done?

I have to have a CT scan first so that is being done first now so that they can see where they will be going when they put the valve in.

They have decided to do it this way because there is too much damage to my heart now and a full open heart operation will be too much. There is a lot of pressure in my lungs too.

Even though I knew this was coming at some time, it has still been a shock today. Feel very weepy. Xxx

Bless you Ruby you're going through such a lot. Sending you lots of love and hugs.

Alima Tue 09-May-17 14:35:09

I do not know about the op you are to have but just sending my best wishes that you are better very soon. X

aggie Tue 09-May-17 14:43:10

I hope the procedure to help your heart condition gives you lots of relief xxxxx

Galen Tue 09-May-17 15:07:38

Good luck to you. Aortic valve replacement by catheter rather than open heart should certainly be less traumatic.
Wishing you all the best
