I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

You're sounding in good spirits , ruby, hope you are getting a better nights sleep than I am hmm. Hasten slowly, though, don't undo all the good work. Hope the appointment goes well.

Swanny Thu 13-Jul-17 09:48:36

Lovely to hear from you again ruby , I was getting quite jealous worried in case you'd gone back to MRI and kidnapped that young doctor you'd flashed your front-fastening bra at grin Good luck with the scooter and take care x

annsixty Thu 13-Jul-17 10:01:23

That Dr was very tall , dark and handsome. His name is Stuart, I had the pleasure of meeting him and he was charming but married. That was how we found out that he knew about back fastening bras but not the front version.?

rubylady Thu 13-Jul-17 18:45:46

He did blush though, bless him. ?

Lovely to hear you're feeling so much better Ruby and getting about. Just getting out of the house for a clinic stops you going stir crazy. Onwards and upwards!

morethan2 Thu 13-Jul-17 20:57:04

It sounds as if your on the mend rubylady upwards and onwards and take care

Lovely to hear from you ruby flowers. You sound quite upbeat but no doubt you have down times too. Take care, and be careful who you have in your house if you take in the homeless.

Yeah! Part of my scar scab has come off and it looks so brilliant underneath. My scar before was quite broad but it seems like that's been taken away and now it's a thin line so will look so much better when healed even though it is higher than before. Nine inches long!

My son is coming back in the morning for a few days. He's eventually got some help from the doctors and hopefully is feeling better about his personal life. I'm looking forward to seeing him and hope we have a good visit.

I've managed today to clean out the hamster and budgies and I've just looked what the noises were coming from the hamster cage and he's kicked sawdust all over the table! Cheeky monkey! He is big enough to put between two slices of bread! lol Fortunately I love him too much to do that! But I've never known such a hamster thug like him. The budgies are being really good and are asleep, Maggie curled up on her blanket, well, another blanket she's nicked off me! But then she is too gorgeous to refuse.

At the first appointment for new Warfarin clinic at 11am. Good job I slept for a bit earlier. I've got Kirstie and Phil keeping me company. I can here and feel my AF when lying in bed all quiet. It'll work out in time, one step at a time. Feel a bit better today, still sore but head felt slightly more normal (what's all that about? I've never been normal) I think I can see a bit of the light when bits of me have started to fall off. Next, once son gets settled is to get back on scooter as he can help me with it's cover and charging it up. Plus he's back to sort his vast collection of game consoles. He knows the first sign of arguing, he's back on the train. But positive thinking, he'll be great.

Right, supper then snooze. Have a great day everyone. Take care, lots of love Xxx

Onwards and upwards Ruby. Good to hear things are going so well. My DiL's 9" op scar from her tummy op is taking a lot longer than yours to heal. Eight weeks on and it's still got a dressing on some bits. You're doing brilliantly.

Alima Mon 17-Jul-17 06:50:42

Great news Ruby, good that you are feeling so much better. The next hurdle will be to not do too much at once! Enjoy your son's visit.

kittylester Mon 17-Jul-17 07:04:10

Hi Ruby, just caught up with thus thread Im so pleased that you are recovering so well and that your humour is intact. Take care. brew

rubylady Mon 17-Jul-17 07:25:22

Over did it! Bad night, bad dream and son not home until tomorrow now. Still, painkillers, Maggie cuddle and tv, yeah. Hamster still demolishing his house. ?

NfkDumpling Mon 17-Jul-17 07:31:39

Oh dear. This recovery lark is all ups and downs. Two steps forward and one back - but it's still forward.

Hamsters like to keep busy. Perhaps more toilet/kitchen roll tubes for him to destroy!

Cherrytree59 Mon 17-Jul-17 07:41:08

You sound good on the earlier post ruby but I know lack of sleep plays havoc with our moral.
Keep up the the good work.
One day at a time.
Good news that your son is also getting help

No Picking at your scabs grin

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 07:46:36

ruby it's a well known fact that the more tired you are the less you sleepgrin its weird isn't it? But you will catch up again

Good about your scar. I do think some surgeons are better at scars than others. My scar on my bosom is wafer thin which I was pleased about.

Keep well- ever onwards, ever upwards!

Riverwalk Mon 17-Jul-17 07:48:58

I'm glad to hear that you're recovering well Ruby flowers

And it's a bonus that the old wide scar has been replaced with something better!

cornergran Mon 17-Jul-17 20:54:23

It's dangerous, this feeling better lark, ruby grin time for a rest again . Hope you get a good sleep tonight and your son is home soon - and behaving himself smile.

Luckygirl Mon 17-Jul-17 21:48:27

It is very easy to overdo it in the joy at being home. Do take it slowly.

Jalima1108 Mon 17-Jul-17 21:55:14

But I've never known such a hamster thug like him.
We had one that could take its cage apart and escape! I think it was a female grin

Overdoing things during the day could mean you don't sleep so well at night, so pace yourself and I hope you get a good night's sleep.

I'm glad your zip fastening is mending well too, I have one that stayed lumpy for a long time and was given silicone gel strips to flatten it.

Blinko Tue 18-Jul-17 11:51:19

Been following this thread but not commenting till now. flowers flowers Glad to hear you're on the mend, Ruby.

Morgana Tue 18-Jul-17 16:26:31

I get A.F. at times. I listen to talking books to take my mind off it. Then it soon goes back to normal. Get them free from library.

Swanny Tue 18-Jul-17 22:07:59

Ruby lots of flowers and (((hugs))) This time next year you'll be running rings 'round the rest of us grin , and we'll be left wondering why we ever worried about you! xx

And if you think next year is a long way off, it doesn't seem two minutes since you first went in for this operation! You're doing great, keep progressing slowly and remember the story about the tortoise and the hare smile

rubylady Wed 19-Jul-17 20:31:04

Aw, thanks for your encouragement, it makes such a difference to me to hear you all. Thank you for worrying, although I don't want anyone to get stressed out at all, I'm doing a lot better than even two weeks ago when I came home. All scab bits off now, moisturising so scar doesn't show too much and skin becomes softer. Legs still swollen and sore, stockings cut off when I came home, large sore underneath which I did tell a nurse was hurting but she took no notice. Told doctor so the officials know I've not got stockings on now but mobility is as good as before I went in plus blood now water thin with this medication.

I've got a few days off Warfarin clinic, till next Monday, I was 2.4 today. Went in clinic ambulance and it was very tartly, so really sore when I came home. Slept and codeine and not too bad now.

Son been really good up to now. He's doing some jobs for me, feeding and watering me, keeping me company for an hour or two then he goes off to have some time to himself, which is for the best, our own space a bit. I really hope now that we can get some of the time back we should have been having these last few years instead of anger and frustration being told wrong off my cardiologist that it wasn't my heart making me ill. I hope we get time to laugh together again and have some fun and joy back in our lives. The only way to do it is to build it back up slowly. He has admitted that he's been terrified these last few months. I knew he would be, I know him too well. He's now on anti depressants, which I obviously don't want him on but I am so glad and proud that he went for help. So many don't and have tragic consequences, my niece committed suicide at 27 years old and shook me to the core when I heard. He is planning his future so things look better. I am so glad.

I've still heard nothing off my daughter even though I emailed and text her telling her what was happening and that I love her and my grandsons and always will. Nothing. Ah well, she has my number and e mail address so maybe one day but until then I will plan my future to some degree for now and enjoy the people around me, including all my gorgeous friends on here. Thank you all so much, I love you all. Xxx

cornergran Wed 19-Jul-17 21:21:18

That sounds better, ruby. Take care, dont overdo things. Good to hear your progress.

Auntieflo Thu 20-Jul-17 08:57:30

Hello Ruby, glad to hear that the 'onwards and upwards' seem to be working. Now that it is a wee bit cooler I hope you are managing to sleep better, but don't overdo things as you begin to feel stronger. Your son is doing well, looking after you and himself, good lad. Sorry to hear about your leg, it must be so sore. It's lovely to have you back posting on a couple of different things, so take care.
