I have just spoken to Rubylady she had an appointment at the MRI today and was admitted to the Acute heart ward for tests. She is on a drip and is to have an MRI scan and an angiogram.
She sounds in good spirits, it is a nice ward and patients ok.
She asks "for grapes please"
Her son has been quite shocked by the seriousness of her condition and has come home to look after the dog and the other pets.

Long chat with Ruby today.
She is no further on with news of her op, she has a little more fluid retention so was having bloods done today and having kidney function checked.
She is in another room, still single but she doesn't have her own loo, however it is more central and with her door open I think she can see more going on.
Her spirits are still good but I think it is more resignation.
The news of her little dog is good so she is happy about that.

I am so sad for Ruby. My BF was very ill last year but no one seemed to know what was wrong with her. She spent weeks in hospital with hardly anyone telling her what was going on and tests and procedures set back and set back. She had a family who kicked up a fuss or I'm sure she would still have been there now! I hope Ruby gets something done soon.

Hello ruby nothing much on tv tonight!!!! Hope you aren't too bored. Just think of the excitement when you get home from your dog, he'll be beside himself.

Hope you are feeling reasonably comfortable and the food isn't too bad. Still it has its compensation you don't have to make it or wash it up.

Not much happens at weekends Ruby. Hope you will have some definite news soon. It's good that ann can keep us up to date, good to know your little dog is well looked after, happy to hear you are in a more central room, and hopefully you are able to chat with other people. I was away for a bit then had a very busy few days with family so have just been catching up on this thread Ruby. You must be so frustrated at being there so long - I do hope things get moving more positively for you this week.

I remember going to visit an uncle in a Convalescent Home in Hastings, many many moons ago. He was the one telling us jokes, such as
Why did the butterfly flutter by? Because he saw the dragonfly drink the flagon dry!
and
What noise annoys an oyster? A noisy noise annoys an oyster!

Well, I was still a child grin Get well soon and thanks to Ann for keeping us in touch too.

When I was a ten year old and in the Royal Liverpol Childrens' Hospital, all my classmates wrote me letters. They were very precious to me, little pictures drawn, news of school, home life, jokes, I loved them, each and every one. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, I no longer have them. I wouldn't have got rid of them. But the memory is still very clear and cherished.

The messages posted here are very much the same, in our modern times. Each message meaning the world to me. When I get home and back to a decent computer, I will look through them all again and see if it is possible to print this thread off. Your words of encouragement arr keeping me going, making me feel special in our little GN world. Xxx

Another little cry this morning, due to being tired and frustrarted that rest is hard to come by. The nurse backed away slowly, closed the door and I slept for another three hours. I had been woken up by gorgeous James sticking needles in the back of my hand at 6.30am! Gorgeous or not, he wasn't welcome at that time... Iron levels low, but I told them that, see doc tomorrow.

I'm taking up a bed now so it won't be long until it's done. Just want to wake up after it, that's all. I will post as soon as I'm able.

It was lovely to chat to Ann and looking forward to her visit this week. Anyone can phone if they want 0702 363 7869 for my bedside phone.

You all take care, speak to you soon, keep the jokes coming, they make me laugh. Lots of love Xxx

Sorry I don't have a garden you can 'wander through'. It's tubs and window boxes for me.
A few weeks ago I took a pic of the blossom on my little plum tree (a present to mark DS's wedding last year) and now I'm delighted that the baby plums are making an appearance.
Also the thriving little mystery plant which was the subject of discussion recently - GN's helped me identify it as oxalis.
The lilac is an offshoot from a scruffy old tree we took down 2 years ago. No flowers at all last year but look at it now.
Both my daughter and a close friend have spent a lot of time in hospital and they're cheered by the random selection of pic's they receive.

I can't even grow grass Rubylady but we could have a cup of tea while watching and listening to the lovely warm breeze dry the washing(ps I'm trying to earn brownie points from difficult but much loved DiL by washing the bedding I've been using while house/dog/grandsons sitting while their on holiday. She'll find somthing I've done wrong, you mark my words)

Just to be different here's a picture of a fireman for you Ruby grin Big fire last week behind us and the place burned down - we had nice burley firemen in our garden at 2 am with their hoses (pun intended) trying to reach it. Seriously I really hope you get some good news soon and they sort you out - it must be so frustrating being stuck in there - it's bad enough being in hospital at the best of times but without knowing when you're getting out it's rubbish! Fingers crossed for you x flowers
