I've been moved last night after 11pm to a less acute ward. They're not wrong, they're not pretty! Toilet had skid marks, toilet brush disgusting, used wet towel in shower room, tablets left on my table, chipped and dirty cups. No sign of seeng doctors so, no ward round so had a meltdown, nothing said about op, just felt dumped in a student digs took over by squatters!

Going to get some sleep now, chat later. Lots of love. Xxx

Three women were having lunch together and complaining about the problems of growing older. First one says " I sometimes find myself standing in front of the fridge with the butter in my hand and I can't remember if I'm about to make a sandwich or put the butter away."
Second one says "I know what you mean - I find myself on the staircase landing and can't remember if I'm going up or coming down."
Third one says "I'm pleased to say I don't have either of your problems, touch wood" and raps on the table.
A few seconds pass and the third woman says "That must have been the door-I'll just go and answer it."

The pilot announces that the plane is in trouble and they may have to make an emergency landing over the sea. The plane starts dropping dramatically and the passengers start screaming.
Then they notice there is a vicar on board and shout to him

I also hope not Pittcity.I watched the local news last night and the Manchester University group wasn't named also our local hospitals seem not to have been affected ,for which many thanks.

Yes, Ruby was the first person I thought of when I heard about the attacks. I do really hope her hospital remains unaffected. Ours have (so far) mercifully escaped, for which I am very grateful as I'm booked in for surgery on Monday.

According to a list of affected trusts in today's Guardian, the Central Manchester University Hospitals is one of those trusts affected by the cyber attack. Poor Ruby. I hope her ongoing treatment won't be adversely affected.

I just read that anno. I hope Ruby will be ok. How worrying.

Oh bugger, I've just checked the Guardian list and my hospital is affected . It wasn't on other lists I'd checked.

And thanks Bellanonna, though it could well be that I'll be sent home again on Monday. After having to get up at the crack of dawn to be there by 7.00am

Just back from a GN break and picked this thread up. So sorry to hear you have been so poorly Rubylady. Hospitals in my experience are not for the faint hearted! I hope things are resolved for you soon ..... and that cleaners come in to sort the place out. Sounds like the ward manager is letting things slide there. What has happened to the infection control policy!

I've just seen this thread and hope you are improving RubyLady and will be home soon, away from the grotty ward.

I have visited Ruby this afternoon and she is not a happy bunny.
She has been in now nearly 3 weeks and apart from knowing she needs an op and what it is she is no further on.
She is now in a single room with her own toilet which is an improvement but not much. She is really stir crazy,
Please keep up with the messages, they mean so much to her.

A clean toilet now I hope!

Oh gosh, 3 weeks is a heck of a long time to spend in hospital. And now just to be hanging on, waiting for an op that she so clearly desperately needs.

Ruby I really hope you have your operation scheduled very soon. It's so unfair to keep you hanging around like this. Please try to keep your spirits up. It will happen. You will get home to your little dog. You will be on the road to recovery soon.
