Yesterday we had the whole family over- 5 adults & 6 children & I cooked 2 lamb shoulders with all the trimmings, Mary Berry's sticky toffee pudding & Chrishappy's gorgeous white chocolate & mango cheesecake (see food forum). All really delicious & we took a day off from our low carb regime. There was a little(ish) bit of toffee pudding left & some sauce too.
As I was clearing up I thought- I'll just have that last bit for my breakfast tomorrow morning & then it is back to low carb diet.
This morning I dished it up & put a large helping of the sauce over it & sat down to enjoy. I really should have looked more carefully as sticky toffee pudding with lamb gravy is not the best combination of tastes!
My DH is still laughing.Actually rolling about in hysterics is nearer the truth.
Wait until he realises that the gravy was going to make the basis of the shepherd's pie(with cauliflower mash) that I had promised for dinner tonight!!

I know it served me right so come on- fess up- what have YOU done??

Had a hangover once years ago when still living at home and wanted something juicy to drink. Took a bowl of what I thought was unset jelly from the counter and glugged it. It was cooking oil grin

The gravy I was making on the hob was very thin so I decided to add a little cornflour to thicken it. Unfortunately the white powder I added from a glass storage jar was bicarbonate of soda so instead of thick gravy I ended up with very fizzy gravy!
