Well done Gillybob. My Zumba teacher also teaches Burlesque but hasn't persuaded me to try it yet. In answer to your question Yes I have been on a abseil kind of thing across a 200 foot wide and deep gorge in the Lake District although it was some years a go I would do that again. I would really like to abseil down Malham Cove.

Wow Teetime Well done you ! I am terrified of heights and struggle to cross even a rope bridge at Alnwick castle with the DGC (who seem to find it hysterically funny). My DD did a charity Zip Wire across the River Tyne for charity a couple of years ago and I felt physically sick watching her step over the side of the Tyne Bridge.

If you do get chance to try Burlesque, you should. It was brilliant fun. We did a short well not short enough routine at the end complete with long silk gloves and feather boa, which, after a couple of glasses of wine or ten I might "do" for DH

Its certainly an idea I'm looking for something new and who knows DH might like a home showing- he liked it when I showed him my shimmy!!!

I learned to scuba dive 15 years ago on our 25th anniversary- it was frightening in rhe sea ( very rough on top) but fantastic- it was in Belize I would love to dive again but wouldn't like to redo the test!

Burlesque does sound like fun. Not sure I'd try it at home though

A few years ago (I was 60) husband came back to the hotel room in Turkey with a big grin and brandishing two tickets for white water rafting! I didn't have the heart to say no so dug deep and found my inner adventurer and off we went. It was pretty daunting (I'm not a good swimmer but I made sure I got a working life vest).

I can't say I enjoyed it, but I made it! Husband loves showing off the photos of us all in the boat, I'm the one in the back clutching for dear life at anything I can get my hands on!

Yes! Dancing with Robots at Futuroscope, where you are suspended high up in seats on the end of a robot arm, in semi darkness and whirled round and round and upside down, just to keep granddaughter company. I don't like heights, or fast rides, but strangely enough, when she asked me if I will go on with her again this year, I said yes without a qualm. (Well without a qualm when it's several months and hundreds of miles away!) ?

Yes I flew in a helicopter down into the Grand Canyon, my brother bless him thought I would love it and booked and paid for it as a surprise on our trip and it was non-refundable. It cost loads so I really had to be brave and go. I loved it but was a bit green by the finish

I did a 5K ski run that scared me so much I realised it's time to stop skiing. I'm 76 and never been a really competent slier. But it earned me one of my favourite accolades from my grandson who, when being told by his Mom that it was good to do things outside your comfort zone, declared, 'But Granny doesn't have a comfort zone!'

In November I took part in a Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser. We had 8 weeks of training and on the night performed in front of 1,100 people

There were 16 couples and we raised £76k

I would do the dancing again in a heartbeat but the fund raising was tough.

Hate heights and lifts, so a couple of years ago when we were in Portsmouth to see the Mary Rose DH persuaded me to go up the Spinnaker Tower. The lift was surprisingly fine and the views made me forget just how high we were. And I even walked across the glass floor! Last year I walked across the glass floor of Tower Bridge too, with only the slightest of flutters around my nether regions - maybe I've laid that particular worry to rest now. Very glad I did it.

Truly in awe of you VERY daring people ! Blimey who would have thought we have White water Rafters, Skiers, Robot Dancers, Helicopter pilots passengers, Abseilers, Scuba Divers and wannabe Burlesque dancers among us?

When I retired(many moons ago now!) my children booked me on an Outwood Bound Course! It was for over 50s - I was the eldest at 61! We did Zip wires, tree walks, treks through the We!sh mountains, sleeping under canvas - hard ground! Also Rock climbing, abseiling and lots of water related activities. The most scary was kayaking - we were taught how to get out if we turned over - in a swimming pool. Guess who was the only one who did it in the fast running River Dovey. I did get out, obviously, and all the young instructors were very nice and gave me hot chocolate! Well out of my comfort zone! Glad I went - but then I didn't realise what it involved!!

Karate Dropped my kid off at a new karate class to see if she liked it, and the teacher assumed I wanted a tryout too; great fun :D Have been doing it for 5 years now.

Yes I have. I used to work for the Leadership and Personal Development department (civil service) and they sent me on a course where I had to climb to the top of a telegraph post which had a wobbly top. I had to stand up on the wobbly top and jump off punching a huge ball as I went down 30ft. I also had to climb 60ft up a tree and stand on a wire, someone else had to do the same. When we were both on our separate wires we had to hold hands and walk along the wire. When we got as far as we could, ie fingers touching, we had to leave go and drop 60ft down to the ground. Very scary. The other thing we had to do was to climb on to a platform 30ft up in the air and clip ourselves to a harness then jump off the platform and whizz down the wire to another tree and then whizz back to the middle. All very scary but designed to do push yourself to do something you thought you were not capabe of. If you want to check type 'Brathay' and you will see what I am talking about.

Walked up Fox Glacier, in New Zealand in 2015. DH was very keen to do this so I accompanied him. Not the easiest terrain, as it's an uphill walk with "scree" underfoot - and I am a wussy walker! So glad I did it - not least because now I've back trouble and I wouldn't manage it.

I did my first (only) abseil three years ago, which was a bit scary. Last month an artist I had sat for before contacted me again. This time it isn't watercolour portraits, it's a huge oils on canvas reclining nude ...

I did a firewalk ,it was amazing ,so good that I crossed over the coals three times .Great experience makes you think you can do anything...I'm booking again for this Autumn

I have had chair raisers put on my arm chair and am about to get a comfort height loo........maybe even a mobility scooter.......does any of that count? Seems to be a horrible chasm I am about to bridge between being myself and becoming an old dear..so scary. Won't be a dear will still be a cow but higher up.

Did dad's funeral service a year or so ago, just stood up said things, sang along to hymns and sat down again........glad I did it.

Going to Oz on my own. Stayed with friends but went off to the Whitsunday Islands on a boat with a load of youngsters. Climbed the Sydney bridge which was brilliant. For my 60th birthday my 4 daughters bought me a tandem skydive. Again brilliant. Always wondered how it would be to fall through a cloud! There is an organisation called GOD growing old disgracefully just for women which looks good fun but not one near me
