I've worn denim since I was 14 and having just turned 63 have no intention of stopping any time soon Wear your denim with pride!!

Of course you can still wear denim I think your friend is wrong. My dear mum wore denim until she was 82.

You obviously look better in jeans than she does!

Denim is better than the beige brigade that some people seem to favour over a certain age. Beige top beige trousers is a definite no no

Love my denim, navy or stonewashed in winter, white in summer mostly. Jeans, jeggings, long or cropped, I also have a pair of denim shorts (only to be worn in the garden). I also have a long denim skirt. No crimpolene for me. I do possess 2 pairs of smart black trousers & some white ones, a couple of skirts (at the back of the wardrobe along with my only dress).

Dress for comfort, don't care what others say

Also a no-no from me is double denim, otherwise yes, I love and wear denim dressed up, dressed down, any colour, it's all good.

I was watching Mary Berry last night and she was wearing......... DENIM go for it I say.

Hi, am amazed that anyone would say that there is a cut off age for denims. Don't take her with you again as she sounds either dated or toxic AND I'll bet that you paid for lunch or coffee for you both!

Will keep wearing my denims but won't be bearing my tum ..... will certainly leave that to the teenagers!

I've got a denim dress which I wear a lot dressing it up or down as appropriate. I just love it. I've also got jeans - the usual zip front ones and also pull ons which I'm wearing at present because I've had some tummy muscle probs - hopefully now getting sorted. I've also got a denim jacket which DC think is 'cool'. Yep! denim for me. If you like it WEAR IT! Never mind what others think - it's what YOU like that matters.

I have dark blue denim, light blue denim, brown denim, grey denim white denim and black denim. And a couple of pairs of black trousers for really posh. I also have a couple of dresses somewhere, but I forget what they look like.

I am 79and have just bought a pair of stone washed jeans , I like denim to hold in my flabby tummy

Wear your denim! Jeans are possibly the most versatile item ever. I like dressing them up for evening with high heels & a smart sassy jacket.

The only downside is the trying on saga ..... Exhausting. So if you've found some that suit you then buy loads more.

Ps I also have a tiny denim jacket to wear over summer dresses which covers the flabby arms someone mentioned. Flabby arms look fine with a tan!

Old not pad!

Like a lot of you on here I seem to live in my black denim jeans. I went shopping yesterday to buy a replacement pair for when I go out and, holding up the new pair against the ones I was wearing, I was shocked at how faded, grey and scruffy through so much use my old ones were.
So, as long as your jeans look like my new ones and not my old ones, I think they are perfectly normal and acceptable. I don't feel out of place when I wear them - tho I will save the pad ones for 'round the house' as my mum used to say.

You know what nipsmum? If people don't like my flabby arms they can look the other way!
Can't think what I would wear on the bottom half if I didn't wear denim.

I had a friend (introduced via a fb friend) who insulted me each time we went shopping. i wore an outfit that I had been complemented on many times and she called me a eccentric dresser. Some weeks later I wore the same outfit and was told that she had consulted her 14 year old son on my pants and that he wouldn't let her out looking like that. She also told me that She thought I would be like Joan Collins when older. I politely told her that she was the only friend I had that constantly insulted me. Her reply was you should see what I would be like if I didn't like you.
She is no longer my friend....no argument, just walked away.
Your friend is jealous of you and you need to get rid of her. Why should you put up with somebody who is rude and insulting and spoiling your day.
No this person is out of my life I realise how toxic she really was.
By the way, my pants are black, like leggings towards the bottom but a French pleat at the waist, nothing outrageous....much like your denim x

Yes I also had a friend who told me that women over 60 shouldn't wear denim, seeing as she was 70 and still wearing denim, I told her stuff that I'll wear what I want, now 70and still proud in denim. Now crimplin trousers ??

So a day before your 70th birthday you can wear denim but not the next day. I am 72 and wear denim all the time. I wear what I want and what suits me.
