where would you choose to return

* WHITEWAVE * dont know where in Scotland your friend returned to but its daylight until nearly midnight for months of the year and even now its daylight from 6.30am until around 7pm .When we were in Cornwall on holiday in July we were surprised how early it got dark .The weather down south isn't that much better either ,I've holidayed in Cornwall several times and the rain has pelted down for days on end and when I said it must be unusual as I'd heard they had fab weather the barmen siad sadly not ...it always raind here

England still for me, and I've missed living by the sea. Despite the cold, I'd probably just buy a few more warm clothes and head right back up to the NE coast.

I'm happy where I am now, except I miss the sea, always having lived on the coast before.

However come the melting of the polar ice caps, we may have a sea view once again

Being happy where I am I only feel glad I don't have to go anywhere else and definitely not back to Sheffield!

If Brexit meant I had to return then North Yorkshire would be my choice

if I was time-travelling it would be to the beginning of the 1900s to north Staffordshire, if I could choose where to go in the modern day I would like to come back as a kiwi, I love NZ and its people.

They say 'never go back' don't they, presumably because it destroys the magical memories ( when confronted with the here and now.)
It would be Devon for me though, the rural areas don't change much, second choice the Lakes, somewhere near Ambleside.
If choosing to time travel, then I would like to visit the Thames Valley round about 1400to 1500.

We often have this conversation - would you go back in time or forward. My husband is definitely for going forward to see what the world is like but for me it would be back - probably to the same town I live in today as I've seen so many photos of what it used to be like which it would be great to experience what life was like. Also to my birth town up north to the 20's when my grandmother who died before I was born was alive. Definitely wouldn't want the dental and health issues from back then though!

The farm where I spent my very early years. It isn't a farm now, some is preserved as a heritage site, some new housing, some used for music. I visited it four years ago and had such a strong sense of connection in an empty barn where I know I spent much time as a baby and toddler. I would love to experience that feeling again.

I would love to go back to the 20s and 30s - with of course plenty of money! If I was to choose the best place I've lived it would be Los Alamos in the foothills of the Rockies in New Mexico. A wonderful climate, amazing scenery, wide open skies - it's called The Land Of Enchantment
