I've never even been to Hay, it sounds like a dream. Is there any way of getting there by public transport?!

I suppose Hereford to Hay by bus but I wouldn't like to do that journey , I wonder if extra transport is arranged , I will ask ,

Right, there are coaches and trains from several parts of England to Hereford, but then bus from Hereford to hay takes about two hours because they stop at several villages. I suggest you telephone Hereford bus station and ask if there buses for hay during the festival , without all those village stops, hotels are always booked but there is a camping site , oh hell this would mean camping gear on a bus, so sorry

Annie are there buses from Cardiff to Hay, that you know of...

There is a bus which does Cardiff to Hay Sparkly, judging by times from Cardiff to towns in south Powys could be over two hours. I suggest you contact Cardiff bus depots, so many come to Hay for the festival they may have buses which go straight to Hay and not stop at all those villages . If you decide to visit Hay and choose to stay over night try Brecon and surrounding villages, lots of B&B's and you may be lucky . If you fail to get to the festival but love books a whole day can be spent in Hay in the book shops and some lovely tea rooms ? , I love going to Hay, I have been told the fabulous jigsaw shop is now closed , hope not true

Has anyone been to a Builth Wells antique fair in mid Wales? Whats it like, if anyone has?

It's held in the Royal Welsh grounds Sparkly, think the next one is September, huge number of stalls, great day out

We had our trip on the Brecon Mountain Railway yesterday, bright sunshine, beautiful scenery, excellent cake in the cafe. Who could wish for more?

Just watched the Welsh News, swarms of jellyfish on beaches in Wales, far more than usual and much larger

The last time this number and size was recorded was the summer of 1976 , phew

It was a wonderful day, made extra special by being with dear friends we see seldom. One for the memories.

annie we cross the border every two or three weeks to support a friend who had a serious accident, so often in Wales but not to just enjoy a day as we did in Wednesday. Hoping to have a short holiday later this year, maybe Pembrokeshire or further North to return to the Lleyn Peninsular. Although I have never lived in Wales our holidays were there most years when our children were young. There was a memorable camping trip when one child developed mumps, the local doctor advised carrying on with our holiday as the fresh air would be good for him, so we did . Mr C has his roots in Wales, we both love spending time there. We will definitely be back very soon.

cornergran, the Lleyn is beautiful isn't it? Aw poor boy, mumps on holidays , not fair . Glad you enjoy visiting Wales, I love it so much I am a happy bunny when someone says how they like coming here

Well I love it. Returned after 60 years away. We have had nothing but lovely welcomes from everyone we have met. Beautiful country, lovely people and at the moment no rain.

I will be doing bunny hops now BBvevan ?
