Our family never kept pets. So I didn't know there was such a thing as a veterinary nurse. Until many years later, If only

Good Lord no! DS is a real chatterbox and when he is with us we will talk about everything under the sun; books, cooking, music, history, fishing (he does not fish, but indulges me!), sport, you name it. The only thing that I will not discuss with him is politics - I leave that to his father. DD is quieter and sometimes it's a struggle to find things to talk about - depends on her mood - but we get by. We have been talking about work recently because the firm she works for has just closed, so she has lost her job and is looking for another. It is also a common denominator for me because I used to work for the same company and so I know everyone who worked there. But no, I am pretty proud of how intelligent, insightful and amusing are the conversations our children have with us.

No, we love conversing with our four. Their lives are so interesting and varied . Perhaps it helps that none live near us, so when we talk, there is so much to catch up on and discuss.

bee63 I doubt very much that it is 'just you' but perhaps you are very honest in this matter.
If one of our DC launches into a long winded account about something ( job related) it is difficult to stay interested, I must admit.
Most of the time though, they are not boring and I enjoy their company, our DS is particularly entertaining.

With our 5 there is always something interesting going on - sometimes too much! They are always interesting and, importantly, interested.

My 3 are not at all boring - annoying, caring, bossy and always funny and entertaining but never boring

Well DS is a morris dancer and academic and DD is a skilled needlewoman and traveller, so no, I do not find them boring.

No, never boring. They all love to cook and talk about cooking, recipes, and market finds. Three love to travel and always have a scheme for breaks. And there's always talking about their children and children's children, brilliant.

Definitely not - I can barely keep up with their full lives and general chatter!

No, we all share the same rather black sense of humour.

At times yes as my DS has the ability to teach people to suck eggs, other times he is great company.

One of my daughters does obsess about her work at the moment but she's in the throes of being made redundant by Christmas so every little development is news I feel bad wishing she would 'JUST SHUT UP ABOUT IT' sometimes. Usually she's full of chat and news as is her sister but their brother isn't a chatterer by any stretch of the imagination but certainly not boring.
