I think they are all spoiled brats Craftycat who are about as close to reality as the Man in the Moon or indeed a Unicorn.... (although "Unicorns are lovely" so scrub that thought).

My DGD's admire Zara Phillips as they are horse mad but I really don't think they even know she has any royal connections which can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

She will never be a Queen to me but then I really don't want to see him on the throne either. The way things are going it will be a brief reign anyway.
I never liked him even before the Diana debacle- he has always seemed to be a spoiled brat to me & I am younger than he is so I must have seen this from a very early age. I really like Anne though- very down to earth & the young princes are great.

I'm sorry but anyone marrying a young girl wearing cufflinks from his mistress & intending to carry on just as he pleases deserves all he gets. I will not be celebrating his coronation if it ever happens & I hope it never does. Is there any precedence for a future monarch to step aside in favour of his offspring?

Crown Princes/Kings have always married for duty, and remained free to continue their liaisons - their wives were expected to turn a blind eye and if they wanted to do their own thing, must be discreet. Charles from age about 18 knew that he had to marry a girl of good family with no past indiscretions and Diana wanted to play Cinderella. She was not whiter than white - a manipulative girl. The big problem here is that Charles & Camilla are devoted to one another and she would actually make a much better Queen than Diana, but neither they nor Diana were discreet.Let them call themselves what they like - Charles won't inherit till long after most people are comfortably retired and who wants to live in that particular goldfish bowl, being told what to do by the Palace flunkeys, always being criticised?

My DD (in her 30's) is Unicorn mad. She wears a badge (she missed out being a hippy I think) saying;

I find the vehemence expressed by some members quite extraordinary.

How unkind to wish Prince Charles dead.
How irrelevant to think the general public have any say in the matter.
How hypocritical (if well intentioned) to think the Royals' "morals" are any different to what they have been for centuries or indeed any different to anybody else's

Yes, Camilla should be crowned along with Charles when the time comes. Those who wish for a republic should think through what they would get instead. At least we don't have expensive presidential elections to contend with. Elections don't always give you whiter than white heads of state. Look across the Atlantic.
As regards head of the C of E, there are plenty of clergy with less than perfect private lives and these days there can be second marriages and blessings in church.

Maybe we should have a referendum on the matter. You know, sort it out once and for all, no arguments.

Same for me. I know the adultery is old news now, but, the person who will be head of the church should hold morality as a virtue, which Charles didn't.

I think the vast majority of people feel sympathy for the Charles/Camilla situation.

...couldnt care less really! just think though the whole lot of them (Royals) should be self supporting!! Rich beyond compare and still receiving 'benefits'...!!! actually angers me.....
