My house move

I bought a dongle thingy POGS, a kind poster told me about them , hope to have landline and broadband connected Tuesday . Having a slight problem though, coming from bedroom into hall I keep walking into the bathroom not living room , duh

let's hope you find the bathroom in the middle of the nightanniebach

things settle down, there is often a problem with tv or internet or phone just at first.Don't sweat the small things as they say, at least you are in your new home now.
most of the unpacking can wait until you feel ready to do it.Are you in the same town?If so, at least you know where everything is.

Oh dear that all sounds stressful Annie my heart skipped a beat when I read the bit about the dogs, I'm glad you were able to retrieve them.
When we moved here 8 years ago, everything took longer to do and it all felt so exhausting. I can remember thinking I would know when I was settling in when I could put on my knickers without opening and closing several drawers!

Its exciting though and I bet you'll enjoy organising all your things into their new places. I'd say try to enjoy it but that would sound daft so I won't! I hope you're warm and have hot water and functioning appliances asap. This time next week...

Since the move

Work had to be done on vacated bungalow , no problem ?

Son in law who took on the painting had the news his father has about two weeks to live.

Removal man found he didn't have a free date untill March to deliver a wardrobe I had paid for and was to be delivered the dsy of the move.

Daughter discharged from hospital but was admitted again.

Niece who was helping with the unpacking developed a nasty chest infection.

Brother decided to take control and bring in his firm whilst I sorted out a vat query!

Brothers mother in law, darling woman age 89 was found unconscious and rushed to hospital, still there.

Brothers son serious injury on knee , couldn't walk and his partner had to leave for Holland because her grandfather had died. Brother racing to Merthyr and Cardiff hospitals,bungalow work on hold.

Applied to council, given another week to hand in the keys , another week paying rent on two properties.

Work resumed, brother took up flooring

Chap booked to sought out all my garden pots and bring them here had slipped disc.

Now five days to handing over keys.

Ex son in law offers to see to garden pots. Poured with rain all week.

Terrible news Thursday, very close friend of daughters committed suicide, upset us all.

Friday evening text from brother - in hospital, got septic arthritis .

Flooring still outside bungalow, shed not emptied,

I see a council fine awaiting me .

Love the new bungalow but troubled for those in extended family who are ill

It's a long time since we moved but that was a series of disasters one after another, redundancy, family bereavement, accidents, illness etc etc.
Sometimes life does seem to throw one thing after another at you and you wonder later how you coped.

I don't know what to say except to send sympathy and best wishes to you.

Sending sympathy and hoping everything will come together very soon and that you don't get fined - surely the Council will take your family circumstances into account?

Oh anniebach how I feel for you, why do things all happen at once. Sorry for all your family members who are ill,hope they recover quickly.
All you can do is deal with one thing at a time and one day at a time, it will pass but you need to be strong in the meantime.

My goodness, Annie, you couldn't make it up, could you?? What a catalogue of disasters. I hope everyone is back on track health and otherwise soon, and that you manage to keep your equilibrium (I'm not sure I would!). I'm sure my old regimental motto describes you to a tee: "Suaviter in Modo, Fortiter in Re". Gentle in manner, resolute in deed"!

Annie I've just had to read your post twice to make sure I'd read it correctly. As Greyduster said, you couldn't make it up.

However, as you said, if you separate the people who are ill the rest is really amusing. I have been in my home 4 years now, yet still have one carrier bag and one box to 'sort through'. Part of me says I haven't needed/missed anything in that time so bin the lot. The other part says maybe better check it through first ...
