Anyone who has noticed that she hasn't posted for a while might not be surprised to learn that she's unable to receive PMs.

We all know what that means.

Do be careful you don't blow your cover ankers.
I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing deja vu!

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 17:44:15

But Ankers hasn't been here long (under that name, of course) and glass and Galen don't often post on the general threads.

It all sounds like very familiar non-logic to me.

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 17:45:06

janea, I think that ship's sailed long ago...grin

stillaliveandkicking Fri 13-Jan-17 17:50:06

Thought it wasn't protocol to start a thread about another user confused Everyone posts in different ways. That's why it's called a "forum".

Ankers Fri 13-Jan-17 17:51:24

Elegran, I am not the first poster to post you are head of a clique.
There was a writer on here a few months ago saying the same thing.

With the internet, people do not need to sit in corners, they email each other, and send PMs.

Maggiemaybe Fri 13-Jan-17 17:52:56

Maybe so, Elegran. I wondered if Ankers had been offered a trial membership, and saw all your names on the subscription form smile

Ankers Fri 13-Jan-17 17:53:53

If jingls genuinely does not know why she was banned[dont gransnet tell her?] then she alone needs to speak to them. And keep speaking until she understands why.

Ankers Fri 13-Jan-17 17:55:28

Within a clique, some people are more active than others. And take up different roles.

merlotgran Fri 13-Jan-17 17:56:44

That's a very funny comment, Ankers. I think after all the water that's gone under the bridge, any dialogue between jingl and GNHQ is likely to end in the word OFF!

They've made it perfectly clear that any compromise is not up for discussion.

Iam64 Fri 13-Jan-17 17:58:12

This thread is taken no a rather unpleasant tone. One that those of us who recognise the style of the stirrer will recognise. THe regular posters named are far from being a clique. I recognise them as interesting individuals, with their own take on a variety of issues. To accuse them of being a clique led by elegran is plain daft, if bordering on offensive. elegran is someone whose contributions are always articulately argued and well informed. A clique leader - don't make me laugh and stop trying to create havoc.

Iam64 Fri 13-Jan-17 17:59:11

X posted there merlot

Elegran Fri 13-Jan-17 18:01:19

Perhaps you should report me to GNHQ, Ankers. I am sure they would be quick to reprimand me if they thought that I was being as spiteful as you clearly think I am.

While you wait for an answer, do consider whether your own recent posts are completely free of spite and resentment.

By the way - I have not PMed anyone at all to talk about you or whispered in any corners about you, so I am hurt, offended and insulted that you should accuse me of such things. I have not hurt, offended or insulted you, so you have no excuse to attack me.

Ankers Fri 13-Jan-17 18:10:05

Elegran, by me do you mean Ankers?
I have not been here long enough for you to do that I would have thought.
I did notice though that you have not included the word email in your post.

Also, where have I said you were being spiteful in any way.
Your posts on the whole to everyone are courteous that I have seen.
And where have I said that a clique leader is spiteful?

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 18:13:12

Is Ankers someone other than you, then? confused

Ankers Fri 13-Jan-17 18:13:45

merlotgran, that is a shame.

Can I ask why did you start the thread in that case?

Do you know who keeps reporting her?

To my mind, and obviously I could be completely wrong, it doesnt even have to be a member does it.
A lurker to this forum could do it?

Iam64 Fri 13-Jan-17 18:14:39

I'd noticed on either this or another thread that Ankers was speaking of herself in the third person. That's something Mt Trump does isn't it

annodomini Fri 13-Jan-17 18:16:13

Elegran part of a clique? She is one of the most, if not THE most independent-minded gran on these forums. How could she possibly be in a clique, far less the leader of a clique?

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 18:17:18

It's actually a bit worrying.

Mumsy Fri 13-Jan-17 18:17:43

Ana, so Ive only been on this site for 6 months, so what, that doesnt mean to say I do not know jingles!!

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 18:18:06

(To Iam64)

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 18:20:00

Well for a lot of that 6 months, Mumsy she wasn't even posting (having been banned!) so you wouldn't have had much time to get to know her.

Elegran Fri 13-Jan-17 18:24:29

No, Ankers when I said "Perhaps you should report me to GNHQ" I meant perhaps you, Ankers, should report me, Elegran, if you believed I was part of a clique - leader of a clique, even.

A clique is by definition a rather nasty thing. It exists to exclude those who are not members of it and make them feel bad. That is why no-one likes to be called one of a clique, and the leader of a clique incites the others to exclude those that he or she doesn't like.

Elegran Fri 13-Jan-17 18:32:15

Do I have to include the word email for you to believe I have not used it to be a clique? Do I also have to say that I have not written any letters, sent any texts, made any phone calls, painted anything in big letters on my roof for passing air passengers to read, taught my dog to bark messages in morse code, and if I don't mention something then I could have been using that?

You really do like every detail to be spelt out, Ankers, don't you! Are you by any chance on the autistic spectrum? (and that is not said as an insult, but as a genuine question, as I believe it is one of the symptoms)

ffinnochio Fri 13-Jan-17 18:33:34

I am curious about the different roles you speak of Ankers, regarding the supposed clique members? Can you define these roles, please?

Bloody irritating to have such airy-fairy, oblique references thrown into a debate with such abandon.

Strewth - talk about smoke and mirrors

Iam64 Fri 13-Jan-17 18:35:23

Yes ana, agree it's getting a bit worrying. elegran has, as ever, expressed clearly, concisely and accurately why being accused of heading a clique is never a compliment. Rather nasty, deliberately provocative and all too familiar
