Everyone feeling a little despondant today all back to work after a fairly hectic xmas and new year. But also my 60th birthday today which everyone has seemed to have forgotten did not get one card from anyone. Hubby gone out to play darts, 2 sons upstairs in their rooms, others with their own familes. Even my siblings have forgotten. We did see everyone new years eve so probably still getting over it. Ah well a glass of red before bedtime. Worst time of year for a birthday sounds a little churlish I know but I shall enjoy my glass of wine

Chris arrange to have a very large bouquet of flowers delivered to your house
www.direct2florist.co.uk/?gclid=CPbE_fL5ptECFXgW0wodOl8AZg
and enjoy telling your undeserving hubby and sons why they have arrived.
Then go out and buy yourself a super new dress and shoes & bag to go with it, and a bottle of champagne.
Book yourself a pamper day somewhere nice.
If by this stage hubby is not on his knees begging forgiveness, threaten to LTB.
And next year, draw his attention to what you want for your 61st birthday well in advance. I find this strategy avoids disappointment.
Here are some flowers and winewineto be going on with.

Happy Birthday Chris! I'd be tempted to buy a few birthday cards in the morning, sign them from myself and put them up on the mantlepiece for everyone to see. smile For now though, I'll raise a wine to you!

Many happy returns from me too! I'm sorry it has been ignored by your family. winecupcake

It's my birthday on Thursday (it's also J52's) and I know how you feel, although DH and the children never forget - they wouldn't dare!! envy

When my parents were hard up, my mother used to tell me that I shouldn't have been born just after Christmas then I might get better presents and I had one boyfriend who gave me a box of Black Magic for Christmas as I 'couldn't really expect two decent presents so close together!' He didn't last long!! grin

Notso Tue 03-Jan-17 21:55:03

Jane's suggestion is much better!

Cherrytree59 Tue 03-Jan-17 21:56:33

Tomorrow treat yourself to a nice birthday present.
The sales are on so you might get a bargain!
Or some nice flowers/ a lovely bowl of bulbs.
Put your feet up and let them make their own tea!

I felt a bit sad today because my eldest son was 30 and he had a card from us and no other cards! His brothers send greetings on Facebook or text. His friends do likewise and don't send cards. No grandparents left. Our sisters have stopped giving cards to their nephews once they were past 21 although I send my nephews and nieces cards and some are over 40. Just a different time I guess. My son doesn't seem concerned and his brothers did buy him some bits and pieces for presents (3 are students and are hard up)
