Strike through

It must be my eyes (which are useless at the best of times!) but once I've seen something with the lines through it I keep seeing them - I can see them now which mixed in with the blind spot I have in one eye is most disconcerting

Me neither. Used to be ok but since the update it appears as others have displayed. The hyphens seem to run together.

Same here can’t get —strikethrough— in iPad ?

I have the same problem since updating, corner - it’s very annoying. I’m getting fed up with Apple.

Since I downloaded the latest Apple update to the iPad the double hyphen doesn’t work as a strike through. So now I get —strikethrough— It did work before. I wonder if the technical people may have an answer? Anyone else have this issue or is the Apple oddity just impacting me?

It's not obvious on a small screen that 2 hyphens are needed at each side of the word being struck.
It took me ages to notice that.

Sorry, but I don't see what's particularly insulting about that. It just implies that 'going on' isn't quite strong enough to express what the poster feels.

Crikey people do see 'slights' where they don't exist I use strike-through in a way that adds a little comic relief to my sometimes
boring interesting posts.

I didn't say I 'like' the strike-through option, Annie, and I think you'd have to search very hard to find a post in which I've used it!

But that's what it is - an option. No one has to use it, and it seems most posters use it to jokingly put themselves down (as in, I've just eaten ten three pieces of chocolate and now feel guilty...)

I do Jalima, I feel sorry for any poster who has a reply with it included, we have different views in what is mocking and what isn't

But if it has a strike through it has been deleted . It still insults / mocks posters , I accept you like it Ana, I do not. Subtle it is not
