Good memories of Christmas when the children were small. We always gathered at my parent's house but all helped with preparation. But so tired! I remember one year I was woken at 4am with a toy trumpet ( what a mistake!) announcing the DC arrival into our room . This year we will have 12 for Christmas Day ,still at the old parent house ,but with a frail slightly senile mother 94 down to a very lively 5 year and 6 month old my grandchildren, with slightly grumpy teenagers in between my sister's children ! So still doing Christmas Dinner but with loads of help . Not all hunky dory though , my DH who found Christmas difficult anyway and coped with alcohol, now now longer drinks as a recovered alcoholic, even though I have offered to not drink too he will stay at home - his choice and although it sounds hard I had so many years of coping with his alcoholism , I am going to get on and enjoy Christmas Day .
