to wear on Christmas day ?
I have a top I bought weeks ago that I've been saving. I'm not expecting any wearable presents.
Mum always liked a new apron for Christmas day, it was a bit of a tradition.

New top, supermarket best and half price!

shysal Mon 19-Dec-16 15:57:20

We keep it casual, so I bought a lightweight sweatshirt with a silver snowflake design. However, DGD announced late one evening last week that she needed a Christmas top for a charity day at school the next day, so I gave it to her. I don't know whether I shall get it back, but I am not going to buy anything else.

Greyduster Mon 19-Dec-16 16:38:23

No. I have far too many things in my wardrobe that have only been worn once, so there must be a candidate there waiting for a second outing!

Jalima Mon 19-Dec-16 16:43:48

I can never find anything I like these days so may have to recycle something from the back of the wardrobe.

No, jeans and shirt because I expect sticky fingers, spilled food and other baby, toddler mess.....joyous!

I have a "sparkly" jumper, which I cannot bring myself to wear, even in December. So I have given up on specific christmas wear. Though I do like to see it on others.

A cashmere wrap/ poncho thing in Air Force blue, very cosy! Bought from an organic farm restaurant which had a lovely shop attached. Couldn't resist and have been wearing it ever since!

storynanny Mon 19-Dec-16 18:32:56

I want that cashmere poncho! Where did you buy it?

Red dress and black tights. Covered by a large apron!!!! It's not new although I've only worn it once before at last years golf club Christmas lunch.

suzied Mon 19-Dec-16 18:40:33

I have a sequin top and lace skirt I made in my dressmaking class for Christmas Day but I've already worn it twice, so doesn't count as new. Have a chiffon/ lace dress I've made for New Years Eve party. May end up with the Primark gingerbreadman T shirt and leggings for Christmas Day ( which I wore last year)

Alima Mon 19-Dec-16 18:47:57

I have a new Christmas jumper, bright red and complete with a red-nosed reindeer. Oh, and a new pair of slippers. (You either have style or you don't! I never managed that.)

Thingmajig Mon 19-Dec-16 19:02:40

I have a lovely winter (as opposed to Christmas) jumper and a pair of plum coloured trousers to wear ... wouldn't have bought anything new but EWM tempted me!

We have 3 days to dress for (24th, 25th and 27th) but mostly casual which suits me fine. smile

Jalima Mon 19-Dec-16 19:10:31

Alima I read that red is the new sequins grin

I have some nice black velvet trousers but when I tried them on I can't zip them up tchblush and that's before Christmas dinner.

Jalima Mon 19-Dec-16 19:12:17

blush again oh dear, posted that before I read your post suzied

I only read that about the sequins, I don't believe it myself as I like a few sequins.

suzied Mon 19-Dec-16 19:43:12

Don't worry- I still like sequins and can't wear red. Velvet is very on trend. Have a 10 year old velvet skirt - could wear that with the sequins.

BBbevan Mon 19-Dec-16 20:14:23

Yes dark green needle cord tunic from Seasalt. Will wear with tights ( colour?) and a penny tchwink

BBbevan Mon 19-Dec-16 20:15:14

PINNY

Coolgran65 Mon 19-Dec-16 20:21:14

Nothing new - but will wear M & S black cord velvet leggings and flat suede pumps with one of my many knitted tunic dresses - suitably comfy and with a scoop neckline so I'm not overcome with heat.

carerof123 Mon 19-Dec-16 20:40:16

I bought a beautiful velvet top with three quarter length sleeves in what i call jewel colours. Ruby red, teal green, hot mustard and emerald green. I know it may sound awful but it looks stunning and very festive. I will wear on Christmas eve with black trousers for a gathering. It is a Per Una top which i found in an Age Uk charity shop and a bargain at 3.50. Even the lady at the till cast envious eyes upon it when i went to pay for it. She said I wish I had seen that those are the colours i love to wear, so bright and cheerful!!!! lol

Shanma Tue 20-Dec-16 00:04:01

Jeans and whatever top, same as every other day of my life hmm

Lisalou Tue 20-Dec-16 07:46:15

Carerof123, any chance of a picture of you in your glamorous top? Sounds rather interesting!
I will be in leggings and jumper (very casual our end) as I will be in the kitchen. I have a feeling that one of the Christmas Elves will be giving me a new apron which I spotted in IKEA so that will be my new thing for the day as it will be donned immediately as I head for the kitchen after opening pressies!!!!

Bought a new christmas t shirt, black with father Christmases all over it. I shall wear that with jeans. Can't wear jumpers unfortunately as I get too hot.

DanniRae Tue 20-Dec-16 09:27:05

I had my Christmas Day outfit all planned - nothing new, I might add. THEN I was at my eldest daughter's home and spotted a black, sparkly cardigan hanging up. "That's lovely", I said. "You can have it" she said "It's too big for me" (why had she bought it??). Anyway it fitted me and I liked it on me (a rarity) so I have a new (to me) cardie to wear - with black t-shirt and trousers - and I am delighted tchgrin
