Couldn't carry much on train with 2 sticks. Have been wearing a lot of grey but took a barely worn shocking pink cashmere scarf I had last Christmas and am wearing it all the time, indoors and out! Very comforting!

Cream silk blouse and maroon velvet jacket (both from a vintage sale) and maroon Laura Ashley cord trousers (charity shop). If it's chilly I may add a snowflake jumper I have knitted.

I splashed out on an Oska dress (thank you Ernie) to wear at Christmas. I visited my 101year old Aunt this week and tried it on - she said I looked like a vicar : oh well, I like it

I have spent Christmasses under the hot sun, not by choice. Give me a good old cold damp British Christmas any day. It is what I am used to and what says 'home and family' to me.

Bathing costume and sarong for me...but then I do live in Australia!! It's supposed to be 33 deg on Christmas day so I will change into a cool sundress for our traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings! Ozzies think we are mad!!(smile)

Petrol blue silk jacket, skinny jeans and blue wedge heeled pixie boots. Need to find something to wear under the jacket.

I have a nearly new skirt in red, white and silver (charity shop buy) a green hoody top I was saving for the day and bottle green tights. I thought that would be a festive combination but I wore it to the pub quiz Christmas dinner last week so it's no longer a Christmas day exclusive ??

I prefer something new to bring in the New Year , my Mother always had a new apron.

I'm going for the whole hog this year as 2016 has been awful. I had a breakdown in Feb and as a result of being off have been sacked. So hopefully next year I'm getting better when I've put it all behind me. Independently my 26 yo DD bought the same full sequin dress that I had, so I've not had any Christmas do`s to go to so we are both wearing them on the day, partner is in his Santa shirt. Why not!!!

I shall wear jeans for the day when we have a walk and chill and then a nice dress in the evening when we have our Christmas dinner and Champagne. I bought a pair of black velvet flats in New Look for a tenner and will wear them. However, I' ll be in all of my bling.

New slippers. It wouldn't be christmas if I didn't get a new pair. But they must be like ballerinas. I may be nearly 80, but I definitely hate granny type slippers.

Son and I are going to a lifelong friend of mine for Christmas and we like to dress for the occasion.

Feeling both envious and a little inspired by the people who have lost weight this year! I've been kind of resigned to being " a little overweight" if you know what I mean but you have shown that doesnt have to be the case at ANY age!

We're spending Christmas at a hotel this year & I plan to wear my bargain dress. Similar to Lynnebo, I've lost weight this year & bought a few new things. My grey lace dress cost £9 in the QVC outlet in our local town! It's been to a Christmas party already & makes me feel very slim & special

Shorts and loose t shirt. I do not have any jumpers as you can possibly guess I am always just SO HOT. It's not menopause just how I am. Melting even in middle of winter.

Dont have anywhere to go on Christmas day any longer, so will wear ancient M & S velvet trousers and a red top .....still looking presentable after all the years I have had them ! Will wear my Christmas Rudolph with the flashing nose red jumper for doing the shopping this week ! ....and then I shall treat myself in the sales to something new ...trouble is there is hardly ever anything I want ..but Im sure I will find something !

I end up with the same old sparkly top that is cool and comfy.

Visions of being the hostess groomed and styled within an inch of my life will remain visions!

Cooking, and the fact that the other guests want a 'warm' house, finds me in a tee-shirt and no makeup until they arrive. I'd be in a cami-top if I could get away with it. Sometimes I am so behind I don't get to the makeup.

Will make an effort this year as I got my husband a nice camera as he's hopeless with his phone camera. We will have piccies hopefully to message/email to DGD and parents visiting mum's family in Germany.

Bought a silver and grey tunic in Tesco weeks ago which was in the sale at £5. Never worn it yet so it will wear it with leggings on Christmas Day. I have a M&S top to wear on Christmas Eve when we always meet up with friends. I couldn't find a skirt I liked and then remembered one at the back of the wardrobe which I reckon is 20 years old. Works perfectly with the top so outfit sorted!

Deep purple top from White Stuff at John Lewis. It has sleeves that cover the tops of my arms.
