Our local NatWest plays hideous music, really loudly. I really hate going in there, but had promised to pay some money into my son's account.
I was dreading it - but I opened the door and ...silence. I was so excited that for once it was just like a Bank and not Primani!
It made my day.

Well, I didn't get the dog I was after yesterday. sad

However, I've just identified another one, a black Labrador crossed with something smaller, so here we go again! smile

This one is a stray and has been given a name by the rescue centre staff that is very significant to me.

I went to Christmas lunch with my knitting club and we had had lovely chat and a laugh. I should not have had a large glass of wine over dinner alcohol at lunch time finishes me off.
I had a good doze in the late afternoon then went for a bring a dish evening meal with some other friends.

Long awaited exchange of contracts for my youngest son and DIL, this house sale has been so stressful for them... sale scheduled to complete next Wednesday

My cheeky little grandsons, both 3, finally nodded off at 9.30 after six trips up and down the stairs by yours truly carrying a copy of the Riot Act. grin

Got five cheques this morning from NS&I, that's £250 since I bought the bonds in September! And I was very pleased to get them too!

Lilylilo Wed 14-Dec-16 16:32:19

Finishing a painting!

AlieOxon Wed 14-Dec-16 16:28:40

Just got my car back from the garage with new brake pads and it wasn't too expensive!

Judthepud2 Wed 14-Dec-16 14:14:21

Thanks Shanma and Grannyactivist, we are so pleased for DD. She went through a bit of a bad time a few years ago and this is a great boost for her.

DanniRae Wed 14-Dec-16 12:48:20

Well rosesarered I'm very glad you got that fan fixed before we all came to your Christmas Party (different thread) - it might have kept me awake grin

rosesarered Wed 14-Dec-16 11:35:29

Most days have something good in them don't they?
Today, the electrician came to fix the annoying and loud buzz that our shower extractor fan had developed ( loose casing up in the loft) and now all is quiet.Since the fan comes on when the light comes on, in the middle of the night it sounded like a horde of angry wasps.

nelliemoser just noticed your comment....no, I didn't really care how long the
Choccy buttons had been there tchgrin probably a month or so, stashed there by DGS but chocolate keeps for ages, even with a white bloom on it, still edible!

The cloud formation was fantastic this morning. A completely white bank stretching half way up and from one horizon to the other. Wonder what change in the weather is coming. North Scotland

mumofmadboys Wed 14-Dec-16 10:15:16

The beautiful view from the window this morning - odd bit of snow on mountain peaks, trees, blue sky, interesting cloud formations. I love it!

Gagagran Wed 14-Dec-16 07:45:57

DD has invited me to go and watch the final of Strictly with her and DGD on Saturday. Very happy! tchsmile

Oldgreymare Wed 14-Dec-16 07:14:32

Finally persuaded the OG to make address labels, so much easier than scrabbling thro' a variety of address books, Christmas cards all sent now.... yippee!

NanKate Wed 14-Dec-16 06:48:01

That after a 9 months absence I am well enough physically to return to my Keep Fit classes. Knees bend, arms out, touch your toes. grin

kittylester Wed 14-Dec-16 06:09:43

Ga, glad you've found a dog - that sounds like a really lively combination.

Pigglywiggly Wed 14-Dec-16 06:07:04

Hope you like long walks Grannyactivist tchgrin

grannyactivist Wed 14-Dec-16 00:04:44

Kitty and Jud - good news. tchsmile

Having tried every rescue centre within 100 miles I think I may finally have identified a dog that is suitable to buy and it's only 25 miles away. Now I'm just praying that no-one else nabs him before I get a chance to see him. He's a beautiful Springer/Collie cross.

Shanma Tue 13-Dec-16 23:56:11

congratulations to your Daughter, Jud that is a great achievement

grannyqueenie Tue 13-Dec-16 23:41:47

At last got round to rearranging the board on my kitchen wall with some up to date photos of the family, they're not a bad looking bunch really! There are a few very old photos that I just can't bear to replace, though, particularly of our children when they were small. So many memories, where did those years go?

rosesarered Tue 13-Dec-16 21:50:32

This is a lovely thread pigglywiggly thank you for starting it.

rosesarered Tue 13-Dec-16 21:49:02

Just heard that a very poorly friend is now on the mend and may be home before Christmas.tchsmile
