It was a date and walnut cake that just happened to be there. I'm trying to get my hideously high cholesterol down.

Apt and succinct, my dear fellow.

I have been very good....cutting out whole milk, butter and all sorts of things I love. Eating fields full of greens, fruit etc. No cake before tonight. I simply fell off the wagon.

I have lost 8pounds in weight, mind!

Don't apologise Wot. Most of us like cake. My favourite is Battenburg. I dare not buy it!

Well done on the 8lbs wot and this thread needed to go off piste.

I've lost a stone since my son left in September. Probably from eating differently and less and also the water tablets. It is so nice to see the gap back in my toes!

Off-piste is a whole lot more fun than piste-off.

The topic is "This will please many of you" so cake is totally on topic.

I did make a comment elsewhere that I though my Doctor looked as though she should be in sixth form, but that is because I am old and everyone looks young now, It wasn't a comment on her skills, with which I was impressed. (she might even be please to think she looks 18 )
