I see some pond slime amongst us has had a trigger finger problem again. Since I don't know who did it, I won't be calling anyone names by saying that the word I'm thinking now is "Bastards!"

Anya Wed 30-Nov-16 10:56:13

You confused lucky? wink

Jalima Wed 30-Nov-16 10:59:38

Well, I'm confused even if most others aren't
hmm

Ana Wed 30-Nov-16 10:59:40

I imagine the smug PMs have been flying back and forth. Pathetic.

Anya Wed 30-Nov-16 11:01:22

Not PMs Ana! Try to move with the times grin

Ana Wed 30-Nov-16 11:03:04

confused

merlotgran Wed 30-Nov-16 11:04:23

Nobody's confused. All this, 'What have I missed, bollocks?' doesn't fool anyone.

The trouble is that our anger is giving them more pleasure than stabbing their vicious fingers on the report button.

cornergran Wed 30-Nov-16 11:04:26

admit to considerable confusion confused, as I hadn't noticed anything, not sure if I should be embarrassed at my lack of understanding or just sad that its happening.

Jalima Wed 30-Nov-16 11:08:07

Sorry, but I will have to join you in the corner cornergran
I should be wrapping parcels but now I'm going to have to look -- because I'm nosy-- concerned

cornergran Wed 30-Nov-16 11:08:56

You are quite right about ignoring, trisher (I ignore a lot), but sometimes it doesn't help. I don't bottle anger. I let it out. That's all this was. And to help someone else.

I totally agree that cryptic is annoying but didn't see a better way in this instance.

I was pulling slime out of a pond yesterday which is why that expression came to mind.

I'm off out now.

Anya Wed 30-Nov-16 11:10:06

Anger given way to total disgust Merlot

Is it just that some of us can see through all this 'poor little me' and 'oh, what a shame you poor thing' crap that is trotted out between the vicious attacks? Granted some are genuinely lured in and, sweet gullible people that they are, don't know what's wolf in sheep's clothing and what's not.

DaphneBroon Wed 30-Nov-16 11:14:17

As someone who is thinking "What have I missed" I don't follow why the sentiment must necessarily be "bollocks".
When blanket accusations get thrown around willy nilly the normal reaction is to think, Who, what, or when?
The accusation is that somebody has reported somebody or something.
While those of us who haven't are left under a cloud of "Somebdy has been very naughty"
Why not say what you have to say and ideally to the person to whom it is directed?
(Then the rest can come out from behind the sofa)

Anya Wed 30-Nov-16 11:15:48

You'd like us to do that?

GillT57 Wed 30-Nov-16 11:22:09

Sorry have I misses something? Havent seen anything too controversial or rude over the past few days confused

rosesarered Wed 30-Nov-16 11:22:13

I actually thought the thread was about pond slime, and was prepared to dispense wisdom about pond cleaning.
I think I have worked out what it is really about though.but there again, could be wrong.
If my suggestion of wine was reported, then just about anything can I guess! angry

DaphneBroon Wed 30-Nov-16 11:22:42

Well, yes. If soontobe were still around she might quote Matthew 18.15, (I think) the one about if your brother sins against you, go and speak to him about it.
I am speaking entirely sincerely and seriously, so please don't anybody think this is snide/smart or anything more or less.

merlotgran Wed 30-Nov-16 11:29:47

Well, it's really quite simple - even for those with a dubious grasp on the bleedin' obvious.

jingl was banned. We all know that and some of us have complained about her unfair treatment triggered by some of the Oh so righteous members of the Holy of Holies.

She came back very briefly as NannaBigBoobs. Well, certain posters (you know who you are) made sure that was a very short-lived bit of fun.

She then came back very quietly and uncontroversially as Candlefran. It took a while for the penny to drop for some but her humour and style of posting eventually blew her cover. My goodness that must have sparked a feeding frenzy.

So......What did she actually do to offend your sensibilities THIS TIME??

DaphneBroon Wed 30-Nov-16 11:34:20

That's what I mean about broadside accusations.
Whose sensibilities, merlotgran?
Was that a general "your" or addressed to anybody in particular.
If so, don't point a finger in my direction,
'Twas not I.

Elegran Wed 30-Nov-16 11:43:43

Perhapsit would have been better if someone hadn't let the cat's nose out of the bag.

trisher Wed 30-Nov-16 11:44:47

bags it wasn't you I intended to take notice of the 'ignore' comment it was those in charge who always have the option of choosing to pretend either that they haven't heard or that it can't possibly be true because such things NEVER happen. All they had to do was say they couldn't find evidence to support the accusation and let it go. OMG I'm slipping into "Frozen" again. GD has a lot to answer for...(Exits singing loudly "Let it go!")

annsixty Wed 30-Nov-16 11:44:59

And certainly not me.

Elegran Wed 30-Nov-16 11:50:59

Is "unable to receive private messages" a euphemism for "Is no longer a member"?

GillT57 Wed 30-Nov-16 11:53:49

I have never reported anyone for anything, dont see the point. If I am irritated or offended I stop reading the thread. Life is too short to go looking for things to be offended by, they usually comes along without me seeking them out grin

Luckygirl Wed 30-Nov-16 11:55:28

Thanks for the explanation merlotgran - I have to admit that it had all floated by me - maybe a good thing?!

I did not realise who was back and I did not notice any offensive posts. I will return to Care Bear Land - it is lovely there!

Linsco56 Wed 30-Nov-16 11:55:36

Now that someone has spelled it out, is it possible that no one has actually reported anyone but as GNHQ we're taking an active interest in that particular thread they deduced who the poster was and took action?
