I went to London on the train with DH. spent the whole day wandering around Museums, stopped off for a light Lunch, and did a bit of People watching, then back to another Museum.

Back to the hotel for a brief rest, shower and change, then out to Dinner in a lovely little Thai Restaurant we found years ago.
Fab dinner, now back in the Hotel, will be travelling back home tomorrow.

well!! That is how I would have liked to have spent my day. Here is the reality.

Overslept as didn't get to sleep until 5 am( ish) this morning. dark, windy and torrential rain most of the day. worked for the rest of the day trying to catch up from not getting up until late, fitted in the usual cleaning, cooking etc, and also preparing papers for this blinking meeting looming on Tuesday.

Off to bed again now to sleep...perchance to dream??

Most of my days are as the above, oh well I did used to have fun in a former life. sad

Hope you are ok and have some company Tessa. Xx

I woke up early but completely refreshed and jumped in the shower. I breakfasted with DH on a yummy cooked breakfast and fresh ground coffee. After reading the Sunday papers we went for a walk in the autumn sun. Back home I settled into my cosy craft studio for the afternoon and made some amazing items which sold out on Folksy as soon as I listed them.

Reality - Dragged myself up when alarm went off. Sat downstairs with some tea waiting for my painkillers to kick in so I could get dressed! Got ready 2 hours later, shivering because the heating had gone off and winter has arrived and kicked autumn out!

Went upstairs to my craft room i.e. the spare bedroom and was unable to get to the sewing machine because of the piles of fabric and wool and 'projects' littering every square inch! Decided to tidy said room but accidentally spent 2 hours on Pinterest researching craft room storage ideas instead.... smile

So sorry Tessa, what a prat hope he gets his comeuppance. wineflowers
I am on the glacier express going through Switzerland, elegantly attired in my designer outfit size 12 of course. About to have a light lunch with champagne and meeting Liam Neeson for dinner in Geneva.
In reality I am hoovering and washing floors ( 3 dogs ) then starting on a pile of ironing such joy.

I'm at a dance night, the music changes and a handsome man taps me on the shoulder and asks me if he could have the pleasure of dancing this dance with me. I lovingly accept. The song playing is "Dance with my Father again", the handsome man, my lovely dad.

reality:- I can't even look at his photo just yet, the overwhelming surge of the fact he is no longer here is heartbreaking and unbelievable.

morethan Are you missing jing too? It really isn't the same without her.

Shanma Fri 18-Nov-16 23:47:43

Sorry to hear that Tessa. What a sickening shock for you flowers

Chris1603 Fri 18-Nov-16 23:03:34

Tessa I hope 2017 proves to be a better year for you.

Lynnebo Fri 18-Nov-16 22:24:12

Yesterday I walked along the beach on Lanzarote
At 12:30 this morning we landed back in Manchester and drove home to Cumbria through the snow!!

morethan2 Fri 18-Nov-16 22:11:06

I would wake up after a good nights sleep and the whole of this year was just a nightmare. My husband would bring me a cup of tea and I'd count my blessings that my whole family were healthy and happy. We'd go for a long autum walk. Then meet up with my son and his family and watch the children play in a park. After dinner I'd log on to gransnet and giggle at a caustic comment from jinglebellfrocks all would be well in my little world...bliss

morethan2 Fri 18-Nov-16 22:03:14

Oh Tess that's truly awful. I hope there is somone to help you through this.

I woke up naturally rather late after a wonderful, deep refreshing sleep. After being bought a breakfast of pan du chocolat and a freshly ground black coffee in bed I took a shower and stood before my designer size 8 capsule wardrobe and decided what to wear for the day. My handsome, wealthy and devilishly flirtatious lover led me lovingly out to our car and took me happily out for a morning of shopping, informing me that every designer outfit was a wonder on me and that he absolutely insisted on purchasing for me. We then went for lunch before coming home again for a ' rest ' and then out again for a fabulous evening at the theatre. Reality was a 256 mile round trip to a boring woodworking show going round and round for hours with an occasional weak cup of tea out of a paper cup.

I made a beeline for the bathroom scales with my fingers firmly crossed. Hooray! I had reached the weight I was hoping for. I treated myself to new crime novel for my Kindle and after a low carb breakfast (it's become a habit} and a fragrant shower, I made for my favourite boutique for a dress and new trousers that would fit my new size 12 frame. Having achieved that almost painlessly, I tried on approximately 50 pairs of shoes and boots which exhausted me to the extent that I could only pass out on my recliner and enjoy some tennis on TV.

In reality, I'm hoping that this scenario will be acted out in two or three months, as the low carb diet is going very well and I already feel and look a lot better. Wish me luck.

Nanna58 Fri 18-Nov-16 20:27:46

Dear Tessa, dump the bastard, then do all the things you listed above X X X

Disgruntled Fri 18-Nov-16 20:23:29

Oh, Tessa tell us where he is and we'll come round and sort him out!!!!
I do hope he comes to his senses and realises what a prat he's been. Good luck. flowers

Jane10 Fri 18-Nov-16 19:27:28

Oh Tessa how rotten for you. Could you go ahead and book that flight?

annsixty Fri 18-Nov-16 19:04:39

How awful Tessa so sad for you.

Tessa101 Fri 18-Nov-16 18:47:45

Yesterday I walked the dog along the Devon coastline stopped for hot chocolate. Met my girl friends for lunch enjoyed a bottle of proseco, did some cloths shopping for the up coming Christmas parties. Booked my flight to see DD in Australia.

In reality saw my partner of 14 years with his arms wrapped round another woman. ( I'm presently in bits).

sarahellenwhitney Fri 18-Nov-16 17:50:13

DanniRae
Would you care to swap places?
What wouldn't I give to have my husband who I lost after 50 years of marriage snoring in his chair at 3.30.

Legs55 Fri 18-Nov-16 17:26:43

My dear (male) friend is here to take me out to one of our favourite NT places, Lunch, very tasty. Back home to get ready for an Evening meal out at local Gastropub, back home for a nightcap.......

Reality, hoover, water houseplants, dust, clean kitchen, made phone calls to sort bills out, dodge the rain to put Re-Cycling & Garden waste bins out. Sort out Christmas card list & find cards after Dinner (cooked by me, eaten on my own), wrapped a Birthday present & card written ready for Sunday. I can dream about days going out in good company hmm

Hattiehelga Fri 18-Nov-16 17:24:15

We are 45 and on a Viking River Cruise on the Danube. We have the most expensive suite with a Butler, everything we ask for and ultra-relaxing and enjoying the top of the range food and entertaining.

Actually - we are 77 and convinced yesterday was Friday, I did a thorough top to bottom clean "ready for the weekend". Still, it was nice to wake up today knowing it was all done and I had a free day to chill out and prepare the fruit for three Christmas cakes !!

Teddy123 Fri 18-Nov-16 16:19:07

Brilliant dreams ladies .... All with the same theme more or less

Perhaps our husbands have the same daydreams so maybe when they come home, we should be waiting with open arms wearing a tasteful yet provocative outfit and beautifully coiffed with full make up.

My old man would definitely think he's dreaming because by 5pm I'm usually wearing my warm onesie, having a quick nap or laughing at Judge Judy

Have a lovely evening ladies ...

Shesanana Fri 18-Nov-16 16:10:28

I have very mixed emotions morgana but I know I'm luckier than lots of people and everything was meant for the best at that time.

DanniRae Fri 18-Nov-16 15:31:51

Don't be jealous but this morning I woke up on my super yacht - had a delicious breakfast served by my handsome, young lover. I finally climbed out of my beautiful, circular bed at about 10am - leaving him languishing there - and had a wonderful, fragrant bath. I stepped into my new clothes, all laid out for me, and went to relax on the yacht's sun deck. I felt so content and loved, the feeling was amazing and I knew the day had only just begun..........

In reality I went to Sainsburys, my husband is now snoring in his chair (It's only 3.30!!) and all I have to look forward to is cooking the blink'in dinner. grin

Morgana Fri 18-Nov-16 15:30:31

Shesanana although my husband knew he had a birth mother and that she had died, he did not know her family. When we finally managed to contact them (via a geneology website) he too discovered that he had a large family. Most of them have been very interested in meeting up with us. It doesn't take away the pain and regret, but at least you feel part of your heritage.

loopyloo Fri 18-Nov-16 14:33:00

Had a difficult night with pain in my legs . My carer arrived late and I did not have time for a shower. I dream of the days when I could walk unaided and my husband was still alive.
In reality, I am able to drive the grand kids to school, go shopping to Waitrose with my husband, who irritates me by wandering off. I didn't hit anything in the car park. And will soon pick the children up and give them tea and listen to my daughter moan about work. How fortunate I am.
