It's here and I've already watched it four times! Children and animals, what's to dislike?

Marieeliz Thu 10-Nov-16 16:40:09

Fabulous!

I saw it with my Sister today. We absolutely LOVED it, and like others, it brought a tear to our eyes too. I bet that there will be many kids asking for a trampoline for Xmas after seeing that advert, and hoping, just hoping .............................

I didn't love it, and it didn't bring a tear to my eye [not sentimental like the other JL ads is it?]
But it's fun, and Christmassy.

grandMattie Thu 10-Nov-16 17:24:00

same here r0ses but it is very cheerful and CHristmassy. Made me laugh!

Beammeupscottie Thu 10-Nov-16 17:56:53

There are a few of these on here

Twitter users are up in arms over the ad. They say it ruins Christmas for kids, because the dad is shown building it.

"Don't let any kids see this advert it needs to be banned. Who are John Lewis to destroy the magic of Christmas everywhere for kids all over the world !"

Should have had Father Christmas in the garden building it!

annodomini Thu 10-Nov-16 19:00:25

Oh, FGS! In our family we knew we got big presents from our parents and Santa came round and filled our stockings.

ginny Thu 10-Nov-16 19:02:05

Beameupscottie , just because some of us don't rate the advert too highly it doesn't make us grumps. Personally I don't think it is particularly Christmassy and neither did it make me go Aahhh or Aaw. There have been much better ones.

That's nature. Blame the authorities if the foxes are having to scavenge in suburban areas.Houses needed for the increasing population are destroying many of our wild life habitats.

BonnieBlooming Thu 10-Nov-16 19:16:00

Loved it. My favourite so far. Even though we don't have John Lewis in Northern Ireland?

LadyGracie Thu 10-Nov-16 19:29:47

I agree Beammeupscottie, lots of them! wink

Iam64 Thu 10-Nov-16 19:49:54

I loved it, shared it on Facebook and lots of friends have said it cheered their day.
Annodomini - our family was just like yours and I suspect the same will go for our younger grandchildren.
There is so much tough news politically right now, anything that makes me smile is seen as a Good Thing.

rosesarered Thu 10-Nov-16 20:26:09

Unfortunately ( fortunately?) we can't all 'love' the same things. Some did, some ( like myself ) liked it, and some didn't like it that much.So what?

Maggiemaybe Thu 10-Nov-16 20:32:26

Exactly, roses. I usually love the JL adverts - the soppier the better as far as I'm concerned. But I just don't get this one at all, so I'll be fast forwarding through it. The Aldi one's not bad, but I'm holding out for a Sainsbury weepie! grin

Ana Thu 10-Nov-16 22:16:02

It leaves me cold too, although I love the song.

As for the B&M advert - 'The kids' Christmas lists were so long this year we took them to B&M...'

Nelliemoser Thu 10-Nov-16 22:36:17

I found it horribly cheesey.

angel1305 Thu 10-Nov-16 22:38:19

watched it tonight, absolutely brilliant ! i couldn't stop laughing !

Shanma Thu 10-Nov-16 23:59:03

I don't watch Tele, but I had a look by clicking the link. I was in stitches, very funny, and very well done I think. Thank You

rubylady Fri 11-Nov-16 04:03:45

I thought it was brilliant, the way all the animals came together, like society should, and have a good ol' bounce together. Made me laugh so Thank You JL. Made a change from the sentimental ones. X

glammanana Fri 11-Nov-16 08:19:00

I just loved it Boxers just have that extra bit of cuteness about them for some reason don't they well done JL,just got to wait for the Coca-Cola Road Train advert to know Christmas is really on its way.

f77ms Fri 11-Nov-16 08:56:08

You would have to have a heart of stone not to love the ad . My fav was the Bear one a few years ago but this one is almost as good . RUBY yes it would be nice if people were more like the animals depicted !

ginny Fri 11-Nov-16 13:24:54

Oh gosh. So now those of us who didn't rate the advert and grumps and hard hearted. I will now go and throw the dog out in the cold, pinch the grandchildren and throw my poppy on the bin.

ginny Fri 11-Nov-16 14:12:08

Obviously they can't type the right words either !

TerriBull Fri 11-Nov-16 16:12:34

I think John Lewis have surpassed themselves this time, what a great ad. lovey little girl and adorable Boxer. I understand as dogs go they are a bit daft though, I heard a story about someone who had one and when it saw him approach their house the dog jumped out of an open first floor window and broke it's legs shock clearly in need of a trampoline below.

harrigran Fri 11-Nov-16 17:17:31

I don't just have a heart of stone, I am made of concrete. Christmas and animals do not go together unless they are on a dining table with a nice jug of gravy grin
