It's here and I've already watched it four times! Children and animals, what's to dislike?

Jalima Thu 10-Nov-16 11:30:38

the smell of fox wee could linger for ever

Although I did find it amusing

And the Aldi advert, although it doesn't scan well:

I love it, brought a tear to my eyes!

Badenkate Thu 10-Nov-16 12:07:48

At least this time, the dog stayed indoors in the snow. John Lewis obviously learnt their lesson a few years ago!

citygranny Thu 10-Nov-16 12:19:23

I liked it...but the music wasn't very christmassy.

icanhandthemback Thu 10-Nov-16 12:35:58

I watched it ready to be completely scornful but it was lovely. I look forward to seeing it again but will probably hate it by Christmas! grin

mrshat Thu 10-Nov-16 12:41:10

I like them both!!

Mumsy Thu 10-Nov-16 13:36:42

Awful advert! not xmasy enough! who buys a trampoline for a xmas present in the winter!! There no way anyone would let a dog jump on a brand new trampoline, ridiculous. The spoof add is far better!

Nvella Thu 10-Nov-16 13:54:45

I have to admit to being biased as it's my son''s band doing the music! I think the little girl is great - and the boxer!

Jalima Thu 10-Nov-16 13:56:20

Nvell smile
Well done to your son and his band!

Jalima Thu 10-Nov-16 13:56:33

sorry Nvella!

Jalima Thu 10-Nov-16 14:00:31

I have pmd you Nvella

I think we need to suspend disbelief, and not take the ad too literally. I loved the music, one of my favourite Randy Crawford songs performed expertly by Vaults; found the ad very affecting, and enjoyed the happy ending. Well done, John Lewis.

Jalima Thu 10-Nov-16 14:18:18

I do know someone who bought a trampoline for a Christmas present .....

Zenella Thu 10-Nov-16 14:35:06

I agree Teetime and Starlily 196.

Lillie Thu 10-Nov-16 14:36:25

Well I'm not buying the GCs a trampoline, but have just ordered a few JL pyjama sets and jumpers with Buster the dog on, plus a mug for myself. This is bad!

Candlefran Thu 10-Nov-16 14:55:56

The thought of sodding foxes on my GSs' trampoline is sick making. No. They haven't hit the spot this year. Dog's quite cute though.

Beammeupscottie Thu 10-Nov-16 15:19:48

You can buy all the animals as soft toys online; they are quite cheap with 10% going to Charity. You can buy the trampoline too!
Hurry, if you are keen, they will be sold out before the end of the month and only to be found on ebay; at a price!

Lillie Thu 10-Nov-16 15:27:01

Yes, you can only buy a maximum of 5 of each item!

The power of advertising is taking over, but the merchandise is quite cute, not trashy.

TillyWhiz Thu 10-Nov-16 15:57:44

It made DH laugh - it's a hit!

pollyperkins Thu 10-Nov-16 16:00:21

I think it's sentimental and ridiculous. I agree that you wouldnt want foxes on your daughter's brand-new trampoline. We have enough trouble clearing up fox poo in the garden. And badgers are viscous. Yes , I live in the country too.
