1970's mood

Good morning all, I suspect it might be the cocktail of drugs I'm on ATM, but I'm in a very 1970's mood, peace and love to everyone, now if only I could grow my hair again (and get up if I sat cross legged)

SO :-

To all those that I have upset in any way over the past years as WB, Pompa, BOGOFF or any other name that i have flounced back from, I apologise.

I know I have upset some Gners, but never intentionally. I can honestly say that there is not a single Gner that I would not love to meet for a coffee in real life. I have only ever met one, but maybe there will be another day.

So please accept this apology as it is intended and hugs to you all (even the blokes)

But no one seems to remember the second record played. Massachusetts.

I was getting ready for work when Radio One started, with Tony Blackburn (and his dog?)

Oh I am all nostalgic now. I still wear a necklace which is long, so goes twice around my neck if you know what I mean? It is made up of tiny bells( Like the ones we had on skipping ropes only smaller), and they are strung on amber. Well plastic really as the thing only cost me a pound from PDSA charity shopgrin I love it though, and yes the bells do tinkle

This has triggered so many memories but I know I missed a lot of 'what's happening man?' I left school in 1964 and had a couple of years of mini skirts and kitten heels before getting married in 1966. My husband was in the Army, stationed in Germany, and the whole flower power thing just seemed to miss us over there. No waccy baccy of course on camp, or carnations stuffed down rifle barrels! Most of our socialising was with fellow squaddies and their wives, as the trendy places in town were 'off limits' to the rank and file.

We came back to uk in 1969 and our son was born here that year but then we were off back to Germany in 1971. I had no idea of the extent of 'the revolution' as it seemed to be downplayed in the newspapers - maybe they didn't want to 'frighten the horses' grin
