This has triggered so many memories but I know I missed a lot of 'what's happening man?' I left school in 1964 and had a couple of years of mini skirts and kitten heels before getting married in 1966. My husband was in the Army, stationed in Germany, and the whole flower power thing just seemed to miss us over there. No waccy baccy of course on camp, or carnations stuffed down rifle barrels! Most of our socialising was with fellow squaddies and their wives, as the trendy places in town were 'off limits' to the rank and file.
We came back to uk in 1969 and our son was born here that year but then we were off back to Germany in 1971. I had no idea of the extent of 'the revolution' as it seemed to be downplayed in the newspapers - maybe they didn't want to 'frighten the horses'
What sort of family would you not want to marry into?
