Priority and safety with British Gas

My mother was known to the police as a vunerable adult after she too was targetted and robbed. This meant that any call to them was dealt with very quickly. The police also had the key safe number so they could gain access if necessary.

The trouble is they (Gas?) ignored the No Callers sign anyway, and if they are up to no good they will always knock on first to check if the house is empty.
Very difficult for you. There used to be a company in Congleton I think, that would send someone to sit for an hour or so, maybe ask Drs or Ss.
However, that was about four years ago before my df died.

I have done up until now Lona but having to rethink. My limit has been one and a half hours. I have a large no callers sticker on the front door and he doesn't answer the phone. He has deteriorated since I was in hospital just those few days. His very rigid routine has gone. I feel trapped but my son is not working at the moment and he is staying with us, mind you he can be a bit like a chocolate teapot, yet another of life's little trials.

I'm not making a criticism there ann, just wondering how you cope.

That's quite alarming particularly in your circumstances ann. Do you still go out and leave him alone?

Thank you for mentioning the password system. I had no idea that there was such a thing. It would be a good idea for everyone, not just the vulnerable customers.

Oh, it's infuriating to know that there are people out there just looking to scam the vulnerable. Thank you for highlighting the password system.

My DMIL was taken in by someone claiming to be from Social Services. He took all the cash in the handbag hanging behind her door. Scumbag.

Pleased you came to no harm ann but sorry you were targetted in this way. Good for you for telling BG. I wonder if a call to the non emergency police number, or fill in their on line form, would be a good idea just so they know it's happening in your area?

Oh ann I'm so sorry for you being troubled like this. You're having to have ears in the back of your head now, as well as eyes Well done though for setting up a priority and password system. I know it's an extra bit of faffing about but worth it for peace of mind
