Well, I know I was busy last week but what has been going on while I wasn't properly looking.

GandTea, as everyone else says - don't let the buggers get you down and keep smiling it really gets to them. And, I can't even find the thread referred to.

Ann, it sounds as though you are turning the corner healthwise, that must make coping with DH a little easier.

How is DH Daphne?

I'm envious of all the new pets on here. When the children were around we always had a house full of varying types and we (currently) only have one cat who seems to divide his time between our house and somewhere else! It's not the same. Previously, we have often acquired pets by a sort of osmosis, ie, someone knows someoen who has a kitten, basset, miniature schnauzer, rabbit, hampster etc etc. I think we might be too old for osmosis now And, DH will take a little convincing as, according to him, dogs wreck the garden and cats scratch the furniture.

Just to say that I'm having big problems with malware at the moment on our iPads and now PCs as well. At one stage I thought GN had been hacked Back to Apple shop later.
Meanwhile I'm thrilled to hear Lona's news and send best wishes to all those with pain and problems.

I also do not know which thread was referred to but I agree, GandTea should rise above it and stay a thorn in a few sides.

We do not think that our thread cannot be read by others, I would like to say that we like to show some manners and are not snarling and griping as on other posts.

Some people may not understand our love of animals tough, or caring for elderly and children- again, tough- we do what we want here and appear to get on very well.

I did not join GN to have my head bitten off because I had a different opinion and could not supply facts and figures so I am more than happy to stay here. My apologies for the rant but I wish that some would stay well away and leave us to coffee and cakes in the kitchen with a stroke or two of Rory.

Kittylester I'm sure if you got a pet your DH would fall in love with it and not worry too much about the garden. We have two rescued greyhounds and know that we wouldn't be without them, they bring a great deal into our lives.
I enjoy being on Gransnet, I especially like the Kitcheners because they are not aggressive, but helpful, pleasant and caring for each other. I know that opinions I express at some time will not be the same as others, but isn't that what life is about. Jumping up and screaming, and being thoroughly unpleasant and having a hissy fit because someone thinks differently to you seems to me to be a bit childish. So I hope Grandtea will ignore those who upset and stay.

His ukelele was probably taken by Customs at the airport on his return from Rio because the dog sniffer would have discovered his drugs haul of cocaine inside the instrument. We will be sending food parcels I think.

millymouge and kittylester Long ago, when we were feeding Rory (outside in his specially furnished cat shelter) MacSporran repeatedly told me that "he's not coming indoors". Eventually, Rory did come in. He attached himself, not to me, but to MacSporran. He only ever sits on M's lap. He follows him around the garden. He is devoted to him. Guess what? MacSporran has said that Rory has brought a great deal of happiness into our lives. At least once every day...^he tells the cat that he loves him.^

I couldn't believe the prices of rose bushes/trees!! I was labouring under the misapprehension that I could buy a super for about £5! Oh, well, I'll have to dig deep and get one as the vanished one was a present to partner from his Gd, called Grandad something with yellow blooms.?

My Mum's Dad was a Grandpa Dixon! And he was a keen gardener When he retired they bought a place with a huge garden and you hardly saw him all day - he was 'down the garden'.

Things continue to go well here. I have had my dressing removed and 4 stitches taken out , the rest will dissolve. I am getting about OK ang persevering with the exercises.

Have you got a shower seat Ann? I believe you said that was next in line for you- nothing like being able to wash your hair and have a shower.

I hope that you still have help at home from family- it will take you around 3 months to feel normal- you have had major surgery and you are marginally over 29 years of age. You are doing so well, keep up the good work.

annsixty I agree...that is one neat knee job. I'm also wishing to know what arrangements have been put into place once your present family members need to return home? Three months...that's how long you will need in order to return to full mobilisation. Don't you dare think that you'll cope without help for a good bit longer.
