Annie - researching family tree I've found the tiny area one branch still lives in has been skipping in and out of Shropshire and Wales (Flintshire) over the last 200 years more times than I can keep in mind.

Aw I sympathise with your husband, the same thing happened to parts of Wales in the seventies . My younger daughter is quite miffed that she was born in Breconshire but now her county of birth is Gwent , my elder daughter was born in Montgomeryshire but now her county of birth is Powys. We liked our counties as they were , now there are more boundaries changes to come . Thanks for explaining

Yes it was The North Riding before it became Cleveland in the 70s county boundaries shuffle.
