Last night when DH and I were out for a meal, DH was at the bar ordering when a man aged around 40, came over to my table and asked 'Are you dining alone?' I said 'no'. He said 'that's a pity' and gave me a lovely smile. I was very flattered and full of myself for the rest of the evening. Then this morning one of my neighbours, knowing it is my birthday soon asked, 'Is it your 70th?' I said 'no it bloody well isn't. I'm 66' shock grin

Respect, KateK - you've obviously still got it!smile

Your neighbour probably needs to go to Specsavers.

Stick with the nice man from last night. He obviously knows an attractive woman when he sees one!

How lovely !

Dharmacat Mon 18-Jul-16 11:13:05

Neighbour probably envious that you look so great!

KatyK Mon 18-Jul-16 12:32:56

Oh I hope I didn't imply that I think I look great! blush I am always chuffed when something like the man chatting to me happens as, as mentioned on here on several occasions, I lost all my hair and have been through the mill. I now have a new hair system that's taken years off me. I'm not conceited honestly - just relieved!

Just wondering what your DH said:
'Can't leave her alone for five minutes' ? wink

Cheeky neighbour, hasn't learned any tact

KatyK Mon 18-Jul-16 12:57:23

DH said 'He's probably one of those granny chasers' grin

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 18-Jul-16 13:07:21

No! He didn't did he? shock

KatyK Mon 18-Jul-16 13:13:40

Stansgran Mon 18-Jul-16 13:13:56

Handsome is as handsome does so lovely bloke and ugly neighbour. grin
My mother used to chat through the fence to the next door neighbour as people did in those days and came in pink and laughing. The neighbour had told her she must have been pretty once! She was very pretty at 70.

Stansgran Mon 18-Jul-16 13:14:16

She relied on oil of Ulay

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 18-Jul-16 13:24:43

KatyK bet he was secretly chuffed! grin

NannaJay Mon 18-Jul-16 13:39:23

Oh KatyK, how lovely for you, I wish a nice man would speak to me. I sometimes end up dining alone and my confidence could do with a boost x

KatyK Mon 18-Jul-16 13:50:20

Nannyjay Yes it is a bit of a confidence boost. I have very low self esteem so every little helps! flowers for you. Stansgran I have always relied on Oil of Ulay too!!

Thrillednanny Mon 18-Jul-16 14:07:33

Was the neighbour female? Def bit of jealousy going on there if it was.
Anyway good for you, we all need a boost now & then & that was definitely a boost. Enjoy the feeling.
