Got an apartment booked on Boulevard des Anglaises, Nice. Starting tomorrow. Be like walking through the gates of hell. sad

Have you checked with the Foreign Office website jingl?

They'll probably have some details of areas that are being closed or cordoned off.

Hope you enjoy your holiday even though the tragic events won't be far from your mind.

Just looked merlot. Says the Promenade Des Anglaises is closed off. Don't know if we will be able to get to the apartment.

Daughter will have to sort it. I can't.

Is it a long weekend Jings? or a one, two week holiday?

Christinefrance Fri 15-Jul-16 15:32:13

Yes please go if possible, don't let the b******s win.

As harrigran said love and prayers to everyone there.

Take care yourself too.

Jings, it would be an act of solidarity with those suffering that at a time like this you had the moral courage to continue with your weekend break. It is people like you who continue with holidays like this that show the terrorists that they cannot win.

Not the break you planned, but a very important gesture, also on behalf of all but very few on GN.

You may not be able to go, or they may arrange for you to go somewhere else.

If you do go, some flowers would be a lovely idea and, if possible, a candle and some prayers for the victims, their families and for peace.
