Since trades unions were so formative in the development of the Labour Party, I'm thinking about them and wondering what pissification gransnetters can come up with for union acronyms.

Let's kick off with the NUT: nutjobs union (as in you have to be to be a teacher wink) JOKE ALERT!

RMT: Real Militant ....... . I leave the last word to your imagination. My thoughts are with those poor commuters whose lives are being made much more difficult by a particular train company.

Explaining a joke instantly removes the fun, but if we really need to explain what shouldn't need explaining - humour releases the tensions produced by a difficult situation and provides a spot of relief.

Of course, there are always those who promote continually increasing the tension to breaking point, because they prefer it that way. The first move in brainwashing and re-education is to break down before building up the required dogma.
