Terrible news to wake up to this morning, I thought how could someone deliberately target an area where children are likely to be? Then of course I realised, they`re aiming to shock, and what better way to do it, in their minds. It`s an evil world we live in nowadays.

Our Boris is certainly earning his salary since he started his new post, I do not think that he has had a night's sleep. We may now see what he is actually made of and there is no room for his infantile remarks.

3 of the my neighbours children are going on holiday tomorrow and Tuesday and were pestering me last night to trim the bush at my front door. They helped me last year by picking up the droppings so I am certainly going to take advantage of their help today as all 3 are so keen. Their mothers will know that they are dutifully employed, out of mischief and having fun. They are aged 7, 8 and 9. It is so hot here it may well be early evening when we start- it should not take long with so much help.

We left home this morning with a wee bottle of sugary water and a spoon. Bees can starve at this time of the year. MacSporran is anxious to lend a helping hand. We didn't come across a bee in distress. I helped to locate a wandering worm. It was perilously close to the road.

TBH Soop I am treading gently as I seem to be upsetting people (even if in one case it was actually somebody else who made a comment, but I somehow copped the blame)
I am also finding there is very little free time with an 8 week old little man about and his mummy who needs some TLC , rest, including feeding up and general moral support. Littlest fella has enjoyed a trip to John Lewis (for some lovely dungarees, matching little cotton hat and a knitted coat) one day , to M&S another followed by coffee at Carluccio's and a wee peek into the White Company for a couple of dear little body suits and a swimsuit for mummy in their sale and yesterday to Waitrose so I could play Granny goes shopping! He likes the car and the car seat as a buggy with the wheels, but rejected the pram today, however 2 out of 3 isn't bad and he really likes the bouncy chair. He has also put on 200g just since Monday, so fattening up for C*****mas is off to a good start!
Much sadness in the world today, I cried reading this morning's newspaper reports of children adults, babies in buggies -all mown down.

Yes I cried too. Felt really upset yesterday. DD coming back from Toulouse today with her DH and their little ones, but I know France is on high alert and don't feel worried, tho will be relieved when they're back. 161 dead in Turkey now. Heartbreaking.
Safe journey back to London - you will miss them, but it will be nice to have a well-deserved rest !

I'm afraid I'm in total 'head in sand' mode today and having lots of 2pence each way bets at Market Rasen. Just had an 8/1 winner and a horse I've met, Handsome Dan is running later [he's the one on the right of the picture]. I really can't cope with the overwhelming sadness of it all .
