One point - what led to WW2 was Germany invading the countries of other people with tanks and occupying them. Those who were invaded didn't like it. Other countries joined in.

SIL drives a refrigerated HGV sometimes, they have to be able to open from the inside in case the driver gets shut in. It does happen one of his drivers was shut in by staff at a large Colyrut depot, they just closed the door and walked away.
Most walk in commercial friges and freezers also have failsafe locks.

There have ALWAYS been people of all races here, from even before the Romans came. If the door were NOT locked and seen obviously to be locked, the customs people would investigate at once, so it is in the interest of the driver to lock it. If he then can't or won't open it in time, the migrants inside will run out of air.
