And I would like to say that it tasted absolutely bloody awful smile

What a shame Nonnie. The nicest thing I ate last year was a crab and avocado mille feuille in Paris. I still think about it!

We used to go to a favourite restaurant in Morbihan whose speciality was an apple, honey and lavender mille feuille. It was memorable and my all time favourite dessert. Unfortunately the owner retired and the new owners brought in their own menu.

Delia does a nice one filled with raspberries and cream. (And probably bought pastry!)

I ate one in a pâtisserie opposite The Ritz yesterday, and although it wasn't like a proper mille feuille, (more spongey), it tasted good.

Ggg I was actually with 6 friends from the Morbihan - how strange you mentioned it!!

Was it the very much missed Victoria Wood who referred to it as Milly Foil in one of her sketches ?
It might have been the same one where she keeps asking " can you see it on the trolley?"

Actually it might have been a waitress in a restaurant being visited by us.

I was in Morbihan the other year and I am sad to say I missed that particular delight, raspberry Mille Feuille is a favourite of mine.

Lol Nonnie! Thought you were going to say 'twas divine' and you ate it outside, little finger at a jaunty angle, sipping tea! I'm not a bad cook, bit J. Oliver, bish, bash bosh, but I have never managed the art of pastry. Even shop bought takes one look at me and, sort of, dies. Ah well, I enjoyed dribbling at the thought of the crab and avocado one in Paris, and I hope, if you bother again, you have more success. Gave me a good chuckle today. Bit of a dark day with the vote and the foxes. Thank you!

I copied everything he did apart from the fruit. I used a shop bought puff pastry ready rolled out sheet - just like he did! Asda had no raspberries so I substituted with strawberries. It was bland and boring. I like the idea of the crab and avocado one though. yum !
